Love It or Leave It: Valentino’s White Rockstuds

The new line for Resort 2018 is called the Free Rockstud

The Valentino Rockstud has come in many forms in the years since it’s debuted. The famous studs have been black, red, color-matching with the leather they sit on, replaced partially with turquoise, and, most frequently, shiny silver metal. For Resort 2018, Valentino has come up with yet another version: the Free Rockstud, which is pure, graphic white.

This version of the Rockstud first surfaced on the runway six months ago, and I’ve been waiting for the bags to hit stores so I could get a good look at them. Although my personal interest in the Rockstud line has dissipated in much the same way that my interest in most lines that have been around that long has dissipated, this seems like a fresh, crisp, almost preppy take on them, which is new for the ever shape-shifting motif. I dig it, especially on the stud-covered Rockstud Spikes bags.

The Free Rockstud line also includes some colorblocked bags in navy, red and green that emphasize the studs’ new color, and they feel just as fresh. Check out some of the bags below, which are now available in pre-order, and let us know what you think.
