Even with the rapidly changing landscape of fashion criticism and American Vogue‘s relative conservatism compared to its European counterparts, the magazine and its website are still first and foremost among the industry’s most important publications. When Vogue says that something’s important, designers, buyers and consumers pay attention, and Vogue.com recently posted its picks\ for the season’s key accessories trends.
If you followed along with our Fashion Week coverage, you probably noticed some of these things too – Vogue‘s calling them Modern Embellishment, Transparency, Athleticism, Ladylike Pastels and The Skin of the Season. We’ve got their picks for which of Spring 2012’s bags best illustrate those trends after the jump, and we’d like you to let us know if there’s any look that you’re particularly impatient to get your hands on in the comments. Like lots of them, especially the Reed Krakoff, Tod’s, Ferragamo and the Prada clutch.
I love the Prada bag. But what surprised me is how much I liked the baby blue Louis Vuitton.
But, really? Are we going back to the transparent bag?
I don’t like pastel in anything, so I ruled those out. But that black/white Givenchy and the croc Chloe – just beautiful.
The Chloe and Michael Kors are both good. I agree that textured skins like snake, croc, and alligator are going mad lately. I would think neons would be some part of this mix also, but maybe it’s done already.

Valentino, Bally, and Derek Lam get my votes. I don’t care for the transparent bags, even the real designer ones look counterfeit.

umm the clear bag reminds me of a bag I HAD to carry when I worked at the mall in college.. without the LV’s of course.. so no go for me…. I always hated everyone seeing my shizz through my bag..like my tampon, receipts, or something else personal besides the usual lipglass, cell phone, wallet etc lol
