Gaging a trend’s lifespan can be a precarious endeavor, particularly when that trend is born out of something like leopard print, which is an innate classic whether its haters want to admit it or not. It’s been around for ages, and even though it tends to fall in and out of favor cyclically, it will never leave the style world entirely. For leopard lovers like me, that’s a beautiful thing.

Over the past couple of seasons, though, leopard has been pushed by every brand from Givenchy to the Gap. I find this Yves Saint Laurent Cabas Chyc Tote in leopard haircalf exceptionally beautiful, but thanks to overexposure, it does occur to me that some of you might disagree. We’ve set up a handy-dandy poll to measure your leopard fatigue after the jump, or you can buy this bag via Nordstrom for $2795.

While I do not dislike leopard print, I very rarely purchase anything in the print. The YSL bag is beautiful, but I would rather have it in the smooth leather poppy colored version…

I wear some leopard/animal print everyday of my life even if it’s just a brassiere or a pair of socks. I even have an MJ leopard print keyring.
I am never over it, but I find it ironic that I don’t own a leopard print bag. Humph. I might need to do something about that.

I hate that leopard print is so trendy right now. I have a gorgeous YSL calf hair leopard print bag that I want to wear more often but don’t because I feel like such a follower when I do. I know that it is a classic print that will never go out of style. But right now, it is so trendy that it cheapens the look.

Agreed 200%. It upsets me that I feel kind of tacky when I do wear those things because it’s so darn trendy. 🙁

Leopard print done right is as timeless as the little black dress. I like this bag. I wouldn’t mind leopard seatcovers for my car.

i like animal prints, and i’m not done with them at all.
