Black is Back for Fall and We Couldn’t Be More Excited

An old-new trend to keep on your radar this season

Balenciaga Hourglass Bag 1

More than 60 percent of bags in my collection are black. Ugh, I know what you’re probably thinking… but I just can’t help it. Whenever I’m on the hunt for a new style, I tend to default to the color black. It’s reliable (matches with almost everything!), durable (see ya never, color transfer), and chic.

This season, we have a handful of new black bags on our radar – beyond the basics from fashion houses like Chanel and Prada. In fact, many of these new bags aren’t even considered “black.” They’ve been named “noir,” which is a fancy way of saying “dark.”

Noir is French for black. Handbag design houses have used this term widely for years and in many countries.

I still don’t like black handbags. But, the hardware on the Oscar de la Renta is cool.
