Boostcase Has Finally Made an iPhone Charging Case That’s Not Ugly

A perpetually near-death iPhone battery is one of those mundane problems of modern life for which we haven’t quite invented the perfect solution. Desire for thin, light and powerful phones has outpaced battery technology, and the best way to combat it if you use your phone frequently is to use a charger case, but the bulk means most of them are ugly. The soon-to-debut Boostcase Hybrid Exotic iPhone Charging Cases are easily the most aesthetically pleasing options you’ll find.

I’ve used both Boostcases and Mophies (its largest competitor) extensively in recent years, and they both work well. If you’re unfamiliar, both setups provide a battery pack that charges independently of your phone, which you can then switch on when your primary battery starts to get low; the secondary battery doubles your overall usage time.

The biggest advantage of the Boostcase is that it’s actually a two-in-one deal; you got a slim protective case that your phone can wear all the time, and when you need it, the bulky battery pack slips onto it; with a Mophie, it’s all or nothing, and there are also no exotic leather options.

All of the cases below are compatible with iPhone 5 or 5S, which may be the company’s only miscalculation. With price points of $350 to $450, depending on material, these exotics are likely aimed at the kind of cash-flush power users who have already upgraded to an iPhone 6. Waiting for these to go on sale is probably a good bet, but if your phone is perpetually dead, you’ll want to keep an eye on them.
