While big bags have been on the rise for the last few years, few brands have helped catapult them fully into ubiquity, like Saint Laurent, whose Icare Maxi Shopping Bag is one of the most wanted big bags of the 2020s. This season, they continue to take shape, with many brands adding slouchy, smooshy, relaxed oversized totes to their lineups.
Saint Laurent continues to do it best, and when Bella Hadid debuted a first look of Saint Laurent’s latest over the summer, fans just couldn’t get enough. The Y Tote, which shies away from the norm, offering subtle branding and a hardware-free bag, immediately felt reminiscent of the 2000s with its subtle but unmistakable Y-leather paneling.
Brat Approved
The Y Tote, which will launch later this year, offers the perfect amount of slouch and style to feel effortlessly cool. The brat herself, Charli XCX, was recently spotted leaving New York’s Bowery Hotel with one in hand.
Charli XCX, who touched down in New York to perform at Madison Square Garden on Monday, paired the bag with her signature sunglasses, chunky boots, a graphic tee, and a jersey tied at the neck—very bratty IMHO.
The simplicity of this bag works so well for every aesthetic, and we absolutely cannot get enough. The Y Tote, which launches later this year, will retail for $3,600.
This image shows us nothing. Just a basic black bag…
Hopefully, “Brat” will die out as quickly as all other ephemeral fashion trends.
Can we eliminate brat when describing bags that cost thousands? is that an asperaation of status?
I’m pretty sure no one uses “brat” anymore.
Charli has released singles from her new “Brat and its completely different but still brat” album. So brat summer is heading on into brat winter.
Where I live no one ever did.
My 12 yo daughter did lol
