There is a part of me that shops with no limits, budget in mind, or any semblance of reality from time to time. Fortunately for me, that part of me is my mystical alter-ego, who only comes out from time to time, but seldom pulls the trigger (that time I bought a Gucci bag on my credit card when I was 22 and broke, not withstanding). Unfortunately for me, that alter-ego, let’s call her spendy Wendy, has a mind of her own, and she puts a lot, I mean A LOT, of devilish ideas in my head.
Recently Wendy came out to play when she convinced me that I needed this bag. Pillowy soft with billowy shearling in the most perfect shade of lovely lilac, I thought I needed this bag like I need the air I breathe. Truthfully, spendy Wendy still thinks she needs this bag, but fortunately, I am willing to convince her otherwise. However, that doesn’t stop me from wanting it.
Saint Laurent’s Loulou bag is one of the brand’s most popular silhouettes, appearing in a wide range of sizes, colors, and materials. For fall/winter 2021, the Loulou Puffer has been reimagined in soft shearling, and it is just perfect for the season. As I’ve added more and more color to my wardrobe, I’ve toyed with the idea of adding colorful bags too, and on the heels of my last purchase, I still want to add a purple bag of some kind to my rotation. Since the pandemic, I’ve realized how much happier I feel wearing more color and experimenting with my looks more and more. My style has always been more on the neutral side, a mix of trendy and classic with flair is how I’d best describe my style. That hasn’t changed much, but experimenting with more color has been refreshingly exciting, and this bag screams just that…fun! Crafted in Italy, it’s made from plush shearling with a quilted finish topped with the iconic YSL hardware.
Fashion is meant to be exciting and fun. Bags especially bring us so much joy (it’s why so many of us continue to buy and love designer bags), and when I saw this bag, I felt that intense longing once again. As much as I know I’ll likely not buy this bag, feeling that familiar pull reminds me why I love bags so much even still, after all these years.
Keep spendy Wendy in check. This bag will be a complete waste of money.

I think this material is best used as a jacket. Ive never experimented with other materials for a bag other than leather. I dont have any wicker shearling or pvc material. I think leather has the most value.

If you’re interested in a lilac bag, the Versace La medusa is probably a more practical option.

I usually avoid YSL but I bought this in lilac, green & pink. Super reasonably price for shearling & a “fun” bag w/o a lot of $$ investment. I love them!!
You go big! 😉 There are more expensive brands, but 9K for 3 bags is a lot of $$$$ to me.
