The House of Saint Laurent has one of the most recognizable logos in all of fashion history. The iconic YSL remained a mainstay even after the brand dropped its Yves to become just Saint Laurent. Under creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s watchful eye, Saint Laurent has released some of the handbag world’s most-wanted bags of the 2020s so far.
What Vaccarello has done, and continues to do so well, is understand the brand’s core aesthetic and target customer, playing with different variations of the brand’s tried and true silhouettes. While other brands have seen a massive change in the wake of departing and changing creative directors, Saint Laurent has stayed true to its ethos.
What makes Vaccarello’s work at Saint Laurent exciting to watch is that he simultaneously designs for the modern woman while honoring Yves Saint Laurent’s incredible past and brand story. IMHO, the brand (and its bags) just keeps getting better and better.
This season, Vaccarello continues to expand on House icons like the iconic Sac de Jour, offering it in soft, supple leather and introducing a top-handle version. The fan-favorite Le 5 a 7 line expands once again with new iterations of the supple version that sit alongside elegant new evening bags. Check out current favorites below!
I have the Jamie 4.3 Shopping and I love it! It is my new travel bag. Great quality and I love the little bag inside the bag to store my money and credit cards.
Thank god they brought back the ysl branding – love so many of these bags
I’ve really liked the sillohettes of a number of YSL bags, but I was never certain that they’d look good in person… and they didn’t. Those that I really liked online looked a bit plastic-y when I was able to see them in-person. Are they starting to move away from that?
The leather they use are really cheap in my opinion.
Without that YSL in gold no one would look at these bags….
i got mixed feeling with the evening pouch in satin, it looks pretty but the price for satin bag is similiar with their patent leather bag.
Tbh, I think Saint Laurent is best when it comes to clothing more. Their jackets and ready-to-wear are really a hit lately
