Party Bags 2025
Party Bags 2025

Holiday party season is in full swing and will culminate with one of the best nights to dress like a shiny disco ball. Or, if you’re like me, you’ll opt for a little less literal but still festive holiday party look. Nonetheless, whether you’re looking for an on-the-nose New Year’s Eve lewk or a more, dare I say, demure look, you need a bag to finish it all off.

Yes, it’s about time to pull out your favorite little (or not so little) party bag and take it for a spin. Or, if you’re like me and your December is jam-packed, you can take it for several spins as the holiday season reaches its peak.

But what makes the ultimate party bag?

Is it the LBC (little black clutch) that goes with everything, a hands-free wallet on chain that holds just the essentials, or an oversized pouch that can hold everything but the kitchen sink (and still look chic)? The perfect party bag means different things to different people, and in modern fashion, gone are the days when nights out meant hard-sided clutches that were the least bit practical.

What Defines the Ultimate Party Bag?

Personally, while I adore the chic, effortless appeal of a pouch like my beloved Savette Symmetry Pouch, I tend to favor the shape for seated dinners or cocktail bars where I know I won’t need my hands. For parties that require mingling, a slim, sleek shoulder bag like the Prada Cleo is my go-to. It fits the essentials, is chic enough to feel dressy, and lightly sits on my shoulder without sliding off.

When it comes to the perfect holiday look, a sparkly dress is a no-brainer for many, but if you’re like me and you prefer to pick something a bit less obvious, accessorizing it with a bag that quite literally shines is the way to go. Still, there’s no rule that says you can’t shine head to toe, as it’s just the right time of year for full-on glam looks and bags to complement them!

We’ve rounded up some of the best bags to celebrate with this season. From bags that scream party to more understated silhouettes, there’s something here to complement your look. The good news is these delightfully decadent styles are not only perfect for all of your swanky holiday parties, but for any chic gathering you have coming up.

For me, it really depends on the vibe of the night. If I want something sleek and minimalist that still carries the essentials, I reach for an elongated pochette from Primo Atelier BKK. It’s slim, fits my phone, cards, and a lipstick, and doesn’t get in the way while mingling. When I’m feeling a bit extra and want the bag to be part of the look, I love pulling out a fun clutch like Judith Leiber or something artsy from Lotus Arts de Vivre.

Yes we need more clutch bags!!

On the rare occasion I actually go to a party, lol, I usually use my black LV Felicie pochette with the chain. Holds essentials and is perfect for a night out. It’s a very versatile bag, as I attach one of my guitar straps to it for more casual looks.

LV Sobe clutch which I have added a cross body strap to…. And Vivian Westwood small black patent with gold crown bag if I want a handheld

Tough one! For years it was either my great-aunt’s Judith Lieber ivory lizard clutch or Nancy Gonzalez black alligator clutch. Am trying to wear more color, so switch between a green snakeskin bag or blue ferragamo gancini
