When the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 show finished with it’s last look down the runway, there was a minaudiere that caught our attention. The sphere shape is adorned with black and silver Swarovski crystals which are applied by hand. From the bottom of the Louis Vuitton Monogram Nova Minaudiere is a long tassel. This is one of those items that we could not pass up posting about, but it may obviously be meant more for looks than purchasing. The price is approximately $35,500.
Ooo, I love this sparkly little confection. This would be a great excuse to carry around a Christmas ornament . . . if you were an heiress. Alas, I will join you in admiring it from afar.
All Judith Leiber bag’s have hand applied swarovski as well, so what does that make the mark up on this one?!

ok I get that it’s meant to be a runway piece and exclusive, but the pricetag is unjustifiable. Even Judith Leibers which are comparable to this cost $5000, not $35000.
A collector’s piece, for sure.
The price tag is nuts, but then, I feel that way about the Leibers too.
CRYSTALS n sequins… thats really pricey for such cheap material. not to forget crystals are more prone to dropping compared to diamonds. but of course, if its diamonds, the price must be so much expensive because of that LV logo.

I could get a really nice SUV (I’m a football mom) for that price and still have money left over for a Chanel and Hermes to roll in it with me.
I love the shape. I like that they used their logo. I am one of those rare birds that don’t mind obvious logos. But like Judith Leiber, it would just be on display.

The high profile of the small bag will definitely help attract customers. Simplicity of hanging it in a store window will attract many onlookers and consumers. These bags are likely also so expensive due to its rarity. The sheer amount of crystals and hand application will give the bag its luxury label. If the demand for this particular bag goes up Louis Vuitton would have to increase their purchase of Swarovsky crystals and that could increase the price of the bag.
I have to say I really like reading your blogposts! From the few I have read about Louis Vuitton, the tone in your articles is neither elitist nor exclusive.
