Louis Vuitton’s Collaboration With the NBA is Back

A look at LV x NBA Season 2

Louis Vuitton boasts an impressive list of partnerships and collaborations, with one cool paring popping up after the next, making waves and drawing buzz from LV fans around the world. Some of the brand’s buzziest and most-coveted partnerships have come under the direction of LV Men’s and the latest collaboration is no different.

Last year, the brand launched a brand new partnership under the creative direction of beloved menswear creative director Virgil Abloh. An unprecedented partnership, designed to celebrate the cultural contribution of sport and its diverse cast of characters, LV x NBA dropped late last year to much success. Now, the collaboration is back for a second season.

The first menswear capsule of the NBA was designed to explore a unique relationship between French craftsmanship and American sports, pairing classic LV monogram with the NBA’s iconic emblem. The second installment of the collection was designed with the premise of a complete wardrobe in mind. Designed to take you from game to travel and beyond, this collection features bags with basketball-net detailing and the NBA insignia as seen in the brand’s season one collection as well as RTW, shoes and accessories. Though this collection further expands upon the roots of the initial partnership, season 2 does feature a new line of leather goods that is crafted from a grained leather meant to imitate a basketball’s material.

The collection contains several covetable pieces, both RTW and leather goods, that will be coveted by all, basketball lover or not. There’s the LV x NBA Trunk Handle bag, which features a boxy shape, gold-toned metallic corners and riveted details, that is evocative of Louis Vuitton’s iconic trunks. A small embossed NBA logo handbag is also attached to the bag’s strap. Then, there’s the LV flowers quilted hoodie and shorts set, which showcases this season’s new basketball-inspired Strategic Flowers motif. The design features a really cool jacquard weave fabric with a 3D effect. Discover more from the collection below or view now on Louis Vuitton.
