One thing the fashion industry knows how to do is throw a party, and many times, the party is a multi-pronged fete. Two weeks ago, Maison Longchamp organized an evening at the Hipódromo de París-Longchamp, home to the oldest horse racing track in Paris.
And yes, this inspired the name of the brand in 1948. Aligning with the theme perfectly, the Creative Director of Longchamp, Sophie Delafontaine, and friends of the House were there to celebrate the Autumn-Winter 23 collection aptly named “At the Races”.
This event melded horse racing and the world of Longchamp with everything from live horse racing for betting, a customization workshop, DJs Tigarah and Yuksek, and a set by French band Hyphen Hyphen. Longchamp may be most known for its nylon bags that we’ve all at one time owned, but the brand offers far more in its bag offering, including full leather options and ready-to-wear as well.
The Bags and Beyond at the Party
While I am well aware that the brand hosted its slew of celebrity guests, which would include dressing them, I still love seeing what pairings people opt for. A bag and outfit come to life differently based on how someone chooses to style it, so being able to see it on someone may change your view of it.
I loved to see the different bags Longchamp offers, many of which I know but am not fully accustomed to thinking of when I think of the brand. The Le Pliage may be what first pops into your mind as well, but there is more, and I am happy to see what appeared to be a really unique event with a plethora of Longchamp bags I am not as familiar with.
Honestly, liking the direction the brand is going in. Much more fashionable and fresh.
I recently purchased the Le Foulonne crossbody in large and absolutely love it. Very light, practical and stylish. Good value too!
I love Longchamp, even carrying one of their bags today (well, all summer to be honest). These bags look great and they are all priced very well. It’s a great way to get affordable French style.
Really like this! Honestly a lot better than what a lot of other brands are doing. Less fussy and practical.
The Box-Trot M Crossbody Bag in brown (Plum?) looks gorgeous . LOVE LOVE LOVE
I just bought a second Longchamp. My first one is a large size (secondhand from TheRealReal0 that I used to take to the gym. That was about three years ago. It was perfect for that purpose. About a month ago, I bought a small top handle made from recycled nylon.
I LOVE it. It’s so easy and care-free which is what I wanted. I would love to have a Brioche. I’m an official convert.
