Mulberry Unveils a Capsule Collection With Acne Studios

British heritage meets Swedish design

Iconic British Heritage Brand Mulberry has collaborated with Swedish Design House Acne Studios, and the result is an accessories collection that combines innovative design with expert craftsmanship. The capsule collection takes specific elements from each brand’s DNA and expertly marries them, creating a line of handbags and accessories that are equal parts modern and classic. A seemingly odd pairing at first thought, the bags are interesting and fresh, perfectly combining iconic aspects of both brands.

The standout piece from this limited edition collection is the perfect hybrid of both brands’ most iconic handbags. The Musubi Bayswater Bag seamlessly blends together details from Acne’s cult favorite Musubi bag with Mulberry’s beloved Bayswater Bag. This top handle tote is available in an adorable micro size as well as a small version which is larger and ideal for the everyday. The bag features the Bayswater’s classic shape as well as Mulberry’s iconic grained leather. It’s finished with the innovative Acne Musubi leather knot. Both the micro and the small have a removable shoulder strap with branding that commemorates the capsule collection.

Another notable design is the buckle messenger bag, which comes in multiple iterations including a chic black embossed-croc version. Accompanying the handbags is a wide range of smaller leather goods such as a coin purse, small wallet and a laptop case. Thierry Andretta, CEO of Mulberry expressed excitement over the collection stating “the Acne Studios and Mulberry collaboration is a perfect manifestation of the spirit of both our brands. It showcases Acne Studios’ wonderful Swedish design ethos and celebrates both the British heritage and modernity of Mulberry.” Prices range from $110 to $1,625. The limited edition collection is available starting today November 5th, via Mulberry, Acne Studios and exclusively at Mytheresa.
