Introducing Bruno Magli Handbags

Plus, a giveaway of the bag of your choice just for you!

In the handbag world, we are acquainted with a majority of brands that have a long history. This year Bruno Magli, a long standing and storied Italian shoe brand, designed a new collection of bags. Founded in 1936 by Bruno Magli and his siblings, Marino and Maria, the Bruno Magli label began by crafting women’s shoes in a small basement in Bologna, Italy. In 1947, it added men’s shoes to the lineup and since then, the Italian brand has become synonymous with a unique design aesthetic and impeccable craftsmanship. Now, handbag lovers can indulge in Bruno Magli’s storied background with its new collection of chic luxury handbags. Each bag in the collection pays homage to the brand’s iconic past, focusing on vintage elements with a modern touch. And while there are a few different options to choose from, today we’re putting the focus on two key styles.

Concertina Top-Handle Satchel

The Concertina is stunning upon first glance, and with further inspection, Bruno Magli’s iconic craftsmanship becomes immediately apparent. Crafted in Italy of smooth Italian leather, the bag is synonymous with everything Bruno Magli stands for. The Concertina expertly combines style with practicality, featuring triple compartments, a back panel slit pocket and an interior slit pocket.

The standout piece of this design is the bag’s sculptural 14KT gold plated metal bar, which is a unique talking point that completes this structured silhouette. Though the bag is branded, featuring a BM clasp finish, it’s understated enough, allowing the bag to remain sleek and clean in design. While the bag was created with luxury in mind, it is also designed to be functional enough to work as a day to night bag, and dual handles allow for maximum function. The bag features both a top handle and a shoulder strap which is adjustable, but not removable.

While the overall design is chic and highly-covetable, what stands out is the brand’s quality construction and materials, making this investment piece one that will stand the test of time. The Concertina is available in black, sienna and red and priced at $1,195 via Bruno Magli.

Insignia Tote

If you’re looking for more of an everyday carryall, the Insignia Tote is the one for you. While equally as classic and stylish, the Insignia is slightly more understated featuring less hardware and a slouchier shape. It is part structured due to the metal rods that run across the width of the bag (though they are covered in leather), but it is also extremely soft thanks to the smooth Italian leather that it is crafted from. The interior is quite spacious, though the sides can be collapsed inward and secured with a clasp, which ultimately changes the bag’s silhouette.

Inside, there are a few different pockets which allow for maximum functionality, making this the ideal everyday bag. There is both a zippered pocket as well as a slit pocket which is perfect for a cell phone, and as an added bonus, the bag also has a slit pocket on the back exterior of the bag. Though this bag differs in that its straps are not adjustable, we can attest to the length being long enough to comfortably fit over the shoulder.

When it comes to style, this bag possesses a feel that is both innovative and classic, with its easy-to-use signature magnetic slide-through closure, and symbolic hardware. The gold-toned hardware is emblazoned with a Bologna Crest, which is an iconic symbol for the brand, as it is tied to the roots of the Magli family. Price is $1,295 via Bruno Magli.

As with all of the brand’s collections, Bruno Magli’s handbags are an unparalled choice for those who covet both timeless luxury and storied Italian craftsmanship. Bruno Magli will be celebrating 85 years next year, and as the brand has stood the test of time, its handbags are classic enough to remain in staple in your closet for years to come too.
