The Fendi Baguette will forever be associated with Sex and the City for me. How can it not?! Carrie Bradshaw made it iconic, and the Baguette has stood the test of time, with most opting for the rare, over-the-top, embellished versions. Last week, celebs and fashion insiders alike gathered in NYC to celebrate the Baguette; more specifically, the newest version under Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The new Fendi Baguette® 26424 Re-Edition, spotted in Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall/Winter 2026-27 debut collection, was being previewed alongside the immersive The Baguette Lab. The Lab is a place offering restoration services to preserve and restore vintage Baguette bags, launching this July. Given the cyclical nature of the fashion industry, the commitment to this bag and its enduring popularity prove that the Baguette is a pillar of the House of Fendi.
The Newest Baguette
The Fendi Baguette® 26424 Re-Edition’s overall design is familiar as ever and inspired by the original 1997 silhouette. The main difference from this more modern take is that the overall construction is softer, making it even easier to carry and place under the arm. Another standout factor is that this collection leans on intricate craftsmanship and material innovation through a longstanding collaboration with Mumbai-based Chanakya Atelier and School of Craft.
Even if you’re not a celeb follower, seeing so many versions of this bag carried only further brings it to life and reminds me that I absolutely should have bought countless bags when they were first released. Bag hindsight is a true problem!
