Just when we thought we couldn’t be any more delighted with the newness coming out of the House of Fendi, a new season debuts and wows us once again. Milan Fashion Week kicked off with a bang, with Fendi being one of the first big Houses to show. While last season focused so clearly on color and Fendi seen through a contemporary lens, this season feels starkly different.
An Exploration of Elegance
For the Fall 2023 season, Kim Jones explores the subtle elegance in classicism, mostly inspired by the wardrobe of Delfina Delettrez Fendi, a fourth-generation Fendi. The freedom of self-expression is explored here, a play on how Delfina herself wears her Fendi archive pieces.
Pieces are a feminine play on the basics of a woman’s wardrobe, fitted trousers, tailored coats, feminine knits, hints of lace, and more, all designed to be worn together in a myriad of ways. Beautiful graphic motifs which were taken from the Autumn/Winter 1996 archive were seamlessly integrated into the collection, and archival knitwear is given new life.
“It all started with Delfina. There’s a chicness but a perversity to the way she twists FENDI, which is what I love.” – Kim Jones
The Bags of Fendi Fall 2023
As for the bags, there was plenty to see, as usual, with Silvia Venturini Fendi continuing to explore House staples like the Peekaboo and the Baguette. Textures like woven leather and embossed crocodile appeared on bags like the Fendi First. As for newness, Fall 2023 did not disappoint, with Silvia Venturini Fendi introducing two new bags on the runway. The first, the FENDI C’mon, draws on the idea of elegant simplicity set forth by Kim Jones, meant to match the overall vibe of the collection.
The cool new FENDI Multi is a utilitarian multi-use bag whose shape has been designed to easily transform into one of two silhouettes. The multipurpose sensibility is inanely Fendi, and Venturini-Fendi described the Multi, stating, “That duality is very FENDI – as is the idea of something which appears simple but, in reality, is very complex.” The bag instantly transforms from a tote to an evening bag with one swift movement.

What an incredible selection!
That woven leather is so beautiful! I don’t even like the Fendi First, but it looks really cool in the black.
the woven tote and woven peek a boo looks gorgeous, but the baguette(?) with mini fendi compartment looks way too much fendi
The woven leather looks extremely supple and buttery
i dont understand why bags that have straps are held like a clutch. Even big duffel bags, held as a clutch. Looks awkward.
Love!
I love pretty much everything here. All of it looks luxe and super wear-able. I esp like the tote with the F logo that looks fuzzy, like shearling? At least it photographs like a dream.
yezzzzzzz; me too.
Fendi has been upping their game! Now if only Louis Vuitton would do the same!
Those bags in Exotics are sooooo divine!
Aren’t they; have a very nice spring collection.
All so beautiful! Finally, was able to get myself the Fendi peekaboo.
