While paging through the handbags from Fendi Fall 2011, I kept waiting for the brand’s trump card. For the bag that would pull the whole thing together and make me sit up and pay attention. And while there are some very attractive options from the collection, unfortunately that bag never came. Perhaps after Spring 2011’s stellar lineup of Fendi accessories, I was expecting too much.

Fall continues some of the biggest hits from that line, including the ladylike multicolor satchels with crocodile flaps, and it also introduces several more multicolor options in the form of slouchy totes and shoulder bags with elongated straps. Some of these asymmetrically shaded designs work better than others, and I hope to see them hit retail in bright combinations as well as the neutrals seen here. For now, my collection winner in the blue patent shoulder bag that you see above.

hi, i agree with you completely, the patent blue bag is the most outstanding one from the collection. i think it was also the first on the runway show. for two seasons i am a complete convert to fendi bags (almost more than my love for bottega veneta) and can call my own now two from the retro collection (no. 1 and 3), a 2bag and the silvana. however this blue patent one is also very tempting indeed.

I think the collection is absolutely fabulous; very fitting for fall.
I mean, the lines are basic, but the details are amazing.
I especially love the laser-cut Silvana with the turquoise – stunning!
The shagreen clutch with the (what I assume to be) turquoise jewels is wonderful, too.
    Just my two cents.

Not so sure what I think about the colours of the collection (I really can’t get on board with some brands interpretion of colour blocking, its just too much for me) but the lines and structure on the bags is amazing, and the little blue patent number is calling my name!

I like the whole collection, but I’m into Crossbodys and there are some fine ones here. One of the better collections I’ve seen posted here.

Withouth an excitement in the collection, I would go for the 11, 13-16 bags. they are basic, neutral, but with careful construction. but considering that they are probably going to be priced at around 2,000-2,500 (with those materials mixed-up), I guess for that range I might just get a VBH Brera for a couple hundred extra dollars.

I love numbers 11 and 13-16. They are beautiful.
I’m not really a fan of ladylike handbags so I’m over them. Lately, I have been going to resale shops purchasing older handbags.
Unfortunately, these are a disappointment after the success of the Peek-a-Boo.
