In years past, the men’s versions of Fashion Week never got nearly as much attention as the women’s did, but in the last 3 or 4 years, that’s all changed, and for a good reason. As fashion moves towards more inclusive and less gender-specific products, menswear collections now feature a wide array of bags, even though there was once a time that they featured very few of them. Fendi just presented its Men’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which did not disappoint. We’ve got the scoop on well over two-dozen bags fresh from the runway.
“It’s about a balance of decoration and simplicity. An ageless sense of freedom to play, as we rediscover the luxury of free time.” -Silvia Venturini Fendi
An Exploration of Nostalgia and Innovation
For Spring/Summer 2023, Silvia Venturini Fendi explores a juxtaposition of nostalgia and innovation in relation to the classic men’s wardrobe. Familiar shapes are analyzed, deconstructed, elevated, and made anew through Fendi’s historical attention to craft. The collection as a whole investigates the idea of summer dressing as an ode to vacation destinations around the globe, no matter where you are. A stunning earth-toned palette of denim indigo, cornflower blue, silver-grey, and ochre ooze an easy bohemian feel (with plenty of fringes to match that vibe precisely).
The Many Bags of Fendi Men’s Spring 2023
As for the bags, Silvia Venturini Fendi presents a wide variety of shapes. There’s the new Fendi Roma Bucket bag plus various Duffle Bags in leather and more. A unique new wrap-around logo showcases Fendi’s iconic craftsmanship. As for the classics, the Peekaboo ISeeU and the ISeeU Petite for men are revealed in textured cowhide or with a beaded daisy chain strap, which pairs back to the ’70s-esque silhouettes within the RTW. The Baguette, which has been revived season after season in new men’s versions, also appears this season in effortlessly cool denim fringe and eye-catching animal print. A treasured collection of other unique accessories like friendship bracelets, cord pendants, gold chains, and signet rings adorned with FENDI are a play on souvenirs from family vacations. There are some super fun bags here! The orange basket, small denim fringe crossbody, and the cowhide pieces are certainly calling my name
Absolutely love this collection and so many fun pieces I would buy for myself 💗💗💗💗
I am very supportive of fashion that is inclusive of all genders. I am not, however, supportive of denim bags that look like they’ve been ravaged by wild dogs. The bucket bags are intriguing, though. I’m not sure if I like them or not, but they’re interesting to look at!
I love all of this. Interesting with some new shapes and textiles. Stunning.
I love Fendi, but I don’t understand the appeal of this collection. Mostly, they look like largely disproportionate, clumsy, hard to use bags.
Several of these bags should come to Mama ASAP
