Bottega Veneta Debuts Big Bags and Lots of Color for Fall 2018

The Italian leather stalwarts brought their show to NYFW this season

Last year, we predicted the comeback of big bags. After all, itty-bitty mini bags have been en vogue for a while, and fashion trends are a pendulum constantly swinging between various extremes. At Bottega Veneta‘s Fall 2018 show in NYC this week, designer Tomas Maier seemed to agree.

Although Bottega is an Italian brand, it chose to show its Fall 2018 collection in NYC in order to celebrate the opening of its new 15,000 square foot NYC flagship, now the largest store in the brand’s global portfolio. The new store takes up an entire townhouse on the Upper East Side corner of Madison Avenue and East 64th Street, and it’s filled with the reliably luxe leather goods we’ve all come to expect from the brand, as was the show celebrating its grand opening.

As BV has done in recent seasons, this collection of men’s and women’s bags edged toward the playful, with fun colors and cute accents like bag charms and personalization. Check out our photos of the runway bags below.
