Maria Grazia Chiuri’s journey while at the helm of Dior has been nothing short of extraordinary. Grazia Chiuri’s ability to meld modernity with Christian Dior’s most important (and historic) House codes (plus a touch of cultural relevance) is unmatched.
Grazia Chiuri hones in on one specific theme or design inspiration each season, seamlessly melding them with Dior’s most distinct codes and DNA. This season was no different, with Grazia Chiuri choosing to take fans on a journey through time inspired by Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel Orlando.
The show, which was split into five parts, was a beautiful tribute to the themes explored in Orlando, which were well ahead of its time. Inspired by the story, which spans centuries and genders, Grazia Chiuri interpreted these themes into the collection, exploring menswear tailoring in new and interesting ways. Details stray the lines between masculine and feminine.
Grazia Chiuri plays with proportions this season and jumps through decades, presenting a collection that is as storied as it is fresh. Elements from the Dior archives are, of course, present, like a logo tee from the John Galliano era and Gianfranco Ferré’s signature white shirts. Still, in true Dior form, the artisanal details and embellishments like leather latticework, intricate lace, and signature ruffles are not to be missed.
The Bags of Dior Fall 2025
As for the bags, they are a play on the classics, both new and old. Icons of past and present are given new life. The Lady Dior, Saddle bag, and Book Tote are updated with new details, while new House icons like the Toujours bag and the new D-Journey bag, which just launched for Spring 2025 are also given a spotlight this season.
Like the RTW, bags are given full attention to detail, with embellishments featured throughout. Mini Saddle bags are dressed in fringe or finished with pearl-lined straps, while a new circular bag carried cinched by its handles shines with crystals, fringe, and lace appliques. I don’t think the saddle should have been made in a soft version. It is a structured bag that isn’t surpossed to slouch.
