“Youthful spontaneity ultimately spawns an ode to the imagination: a way to reinvent oneself and the moment, looking at what is old to shape new guises, allowing empathy to define elegance,” the last line of press text for Jonathan Anderson’s Spring 2026 menswear debut for Dior read.
If there were a way to describe Anderson’s resoundingly successful debut, it would be just that: a reinvention.
Anderson, who joined the Maison following an incredible run at Loewe, where he was beloved for melding heritage craft with modernity, brings his contemporary meets classic aesthetic to Dior, and the excitement was immediately felt last week following his runway debut.
A New Era at Dior: Jonathan Anderson Takes the Helm
Hints of Anderson’s knack for playing with proportions were present throughout, with ready-to-wear featuring voluminous bottoms juxtaposed with sharp tailoring. Like his predecessor, Anderson dipped into the Dior archives for a look at Christian Dior’s iconic bar jacket, which is featured alongside denim, staple knits, and more.

Elsewhere, tiny embroideries, florals, and neckties nod to the Rococo era, an homage to Mr. Dior, who often took inspiration from that period. Still, it all felt very akin to what we would expect from Anderson, plus color—lots of pops of color.
The Accessories: Iconic Dior Codes Reimagined
As for the bags, Anderson took a stab at the classic Dior Book Tote, dressing it up with book covers like In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and more. It wouldn’t be a Dior show without the classics like Dior Oblique, which appears throughout on messengers and a backpack. A soft suede carryall in shades of sage and dark brown appears in maxi Dior Cannage.

What a boring show! Looks like Dior x J Crew. The outlet mall version…
A book tote with the title of a book on it? Wow… what groundbreaking and edgy design… [insert sarcasm].
It was so boring and like tell me you hate woman without telling me. Capote really !!!! And the book that caused a whole family’s suicide.
Did you ever read his design concept or where he got inspiration from?
If you have to explain what you’re doing, then it’s a big fail.
I love references that require a little digging. If all the beauty is on the surface it would be a total bore.
If you can’t communicate clearly through your design and it needs to come with an instructions booklet, it’s self-indulgence nonsense, not art (and definitely not fashion).
Why does everything need to be easy and accessible? I’m not threatened by things I don’t understand right away. It’s an invitation to explore.
The tassel bags are hideous, eccentric monstrosities.
I hate how you can see the bottom and it doesn’t look clean
Those tassels will collect hair, dust, dirt and knot up with use. Absolutely stupid design.
That Dior by Dior feels like Marc Jacobs.
Wow, Jonathan Anderson is not kidding…… amazing collection and so wearable too.
Where?
I’m underwhelmed that this is the best he could do with all the resources available to me.
This is backwards movement for the brand and fashion in general
absolutely stunning ❤️
*Yawn* Those tassel bags are no flamenco. Y no bueno.
I think these bags are awful. The Balenciaga city suede is much more luxe. These are so bland or tacky.
The first trench coat is gorgeous. Love the In Cold Blood bag.
I also love that In Cold Blood bag too!
If this is the new collection ,good luck . It looks like a cross between Dior and H&M with all the tassels, not sure if the true Dior look most true Diorites truly want. My Mom who wears either Dior or Chanel said “every design house a collection that a failure “. Personally, I’m not impressed with this collection at all.
I stopped buying couture and pret a porter from them as well since 2012.
I agree. It’s like he tried to turn Dior into Gucci. If we want to buy garish design we don’t usually go to Dior for it.
Confirms my fear that, at heart, I really am a basic bit*h, because I love all of it. Except the tassel bag. That green coat 😍
Agree on the green coat!! 💚
Is the wowing in the room with us?
No she left to design at a different brand
Love the understated double (silver) zip bag. The leather looks sumptuous.
OMG this is really bad. There is o structure or design.mthe bag with all the tassels looks so cheap and something a kid would make
I want that green sweater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those tasseled bags look exactly like Hungarian Puli dogs. Just sayin’…!
Nothing new it’s just jw anderson with Dior logos. Nothing screamed Dior that wasn’t plastered with logo.
The duffle bag looks stylish for travelling~
The brown suede tote 🤎
I love your colleks ♥️
