The “no white after Labor Day” rule is not something many of us have reverently observed, but I still find the sudden surplus of white bags on celebrity arms less than two weeks beforehand suspicious. It also serves as a reminder to bust out those white short shorts/linen summer dresses/other clothing items you are bound to spill mustard on while you still can. Summer is basically over (at least in the north—our neighbors in the southern half of the country are going to be sweating until October at least), and while you should wear what you want, whenever you want, you’re gonna be really cold in those short shorts in November.
