Chanel, Hermès and Louis Vuitton always dominate celeb tastes, but the 4th and 5th most popular labels vary from year to year and season to season (and even Louis Vuitton's 3rd place slot has not always been as rock solid as it is in 2020). For several years, Celine was absolutely in the top 5, but it had close competition from Dior, Saint Laurent, Gucci and Givenchy. Occasionally, Chloé, Valentino or Balenciaga might squeeze in for a bit. But on this day in bag history, celebs are carrying Celine in a way that suggests to me that Celine is making a play for the top 5 once more. Kaitlin recently wrote that brand loyalty is hard to hold on to amidst big designer exits and entrances, and that is certainly true. But Celine's may be on the upswing.
Katie Holmes was snapped heading to her hair salon in New York City with a black Celine Triomphe Chain Bag in tow.
Natalie Portman was seen lugging one of her kids around Los Angeles, along with her cherished Dior Addict Bag. Brand loyalty is certainly not a problem for Natalie: She's been carrying an Addict (with varying strap combos) since early 2018.
GMA presenter Lara Spencer was seen heading into GMA with a Louis Vuitton Neverfull. I find her sweater very relatable.
RHONY star Kelly Bensimon was spotted wielding around this massive Birkin at a crosswalk in Soho.
Also seen in Soho this week: Kacey Musgraves and her sumptuous Celine Big Bag. We haven't seen enough of Kacey around these parts to get a real feel for her bag preferences, so this is interesting research.
Further proof that Celine is very much the favorite today: Here's Sienna Miller, carrying a sleek, off-white Celine Trotteur Bag around NYC.
Lucy Hale is still out promoting her Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene. Here she is at BUILD with a distinctive, multicolored BOYY Karl 24 Bag.
