May is always an exciting time for fashion — and naturally, that includes designer bags. With the buzz of the Met Gala still lingering, the spotlight now shifts to the French Riviera as celebrities arrive in Cannes for the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival.
Beyond the premieres and official events, Cannes has become a fashion spectacle in its own right, with attendees stepping out in standout looks from head to toe — especially when it comes to their bags. We’re just warming up, but while we wait, take a look at some earlier arrivals, along with a few other scene-stealing bag moments!
Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid, whose fragrance company celebrated its second birthday earlier this month, channeled her inner boho babe while out in LA. The model paired a Chloé look with an aughts icon, the Paddington bag, to celebrate Orebella’s new body and hair mists.
Demi Moore
You know what time it is! The 79th annual Cannes Film Festival kicks off today, May 12, which means the next ten days are going to be prime for bag-spotting. Demi Moore touched down for a pre-festival dinner at the famed Hotel Martinez with the fan-favorite Gucci Borsetto.
Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum also made her way to Cannes and was spotted ducking into Hotel Martinez with her fluffy white pup in one hand and a denim Chanel Flap draped over her other arm.
Rihanna
The new Dior hype is very real, but when it gets the stamp of approval from our favorite handbag lover, we take notes. Bad Gal RiRi stepped out after the Met in the casual, cool (and brand-new) Dior Crunchy bag.
Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri stopped by The View in head-to-toe Chanel (of course). Edebiri, who is a Chanel ambassador, wore a look from the Métiers d’Art 2026 collection. The finishing touch was the much-hyped Chanel Preppy Coco.

I love the Gucci Borsetto in the leather and in the suede. Not a fan of the canvas though. Also, loving Edebiri’s Chanel skirt. Her whole look is so effortless adn elegant.
