Years ago, the phrase “arm party” took over social media during the early aughts of Instagram, with people sharing the very expansive bracelet stacks they wore daily. The quest for a wrist with the ideal stack continues, and I have found myself delving deep into the PurseForum threads of members working on completing their own dream setup.
The thread I found myself drawn to recently was the “Cartier in Action” thread, one that is filled with actual arm candy galore.
This thread is nearly 400 pages long and filled with images of Cartier bracelets, watches, rings, and other jewelry brands combined to create each wearer’s daily look. Enter the discussion of a dream stack.
There’s no better way to find inspiration than with others sharing items you already love, so take a look at some of my favorite Cartier in action images shared on our forum over the past couple of months!
First, let me preface my comment by saying that I own and love four Cartier pieces myself, including two Love rings. I received them as gifts many years ago and they mean a lot for what they represent. However, I find that entry-level Cartier jewelry—in particular the Love bracelet (and my stuff included), have become such commonplace that they don’t feel special anymore. You walk around any big city and you see dozens of them daily. I don’t know if they are real or fake because there are great dupes for pennies online. Sadly, these beautiful Cartier pieces have become part of the “YSL bag + Lululemon outfit +Starbucks drink + Chanel sunglasses + fake tan + big dumb hat (see SNL sketch)” general uniform.
Yup. And to add to that they’re all “styled” in the exact same way. If any of them are just by chance truly that person’s style and they would’ve stacked any old band similarly, I wouldn’t know.
It gives me middle school/high school vibes when many kids would have to have the exact same boots/coat/bag/whatever to be “cool” except it just looked like self-imposed uniforms lol
I’ve had my Cartier bracelets for 11 years and while they’ve become far more frequent to show up on every arm left, right, and center, for me, it’s the value and meaning that they have to me that matter. I don’t gain any value or meaning from less people having it.
Yes!!! Thank you!!!
As a jewelry collector, the thing I can’t get over is how massively overpriced these bracelets are for the amount of gold that you’re getting. I know the markup is obviously for the Cartier name but at the end of the day, gold itself is an asset and I’d rather spend that money on no-name gold and get 3x as much of it.
I definitely own multiple pieces that wouldn’t pass the “but what’s their weight in gold vs price” test, but at least they were almost all done by an artisan I love and my mother has worked with for many years, with unique designs and tremendous thought.
I do think it’s possible to find lovely things from brand names too, I have a Tiffany graffiti ring that I just adore, but all these stacks show the most boring overpriced “here I have money and want to be on instagram” stacks ever. No personality.
I’m sorry the many many instagram and purseblog posters, I do not think you have style because you’re posing with your cliche’ stacks with your hand over a BMW steering wheel or whatever.
Absolutely. The premium for the brand name is astronomical.
I loved the pup.
Jewelry companies are loving this stacking and layering trend.
Ha, I am sure they are, but I also like how it looks!
I dislike the “nail” bracelet (whatever that’s called) but weirdly think it looks good as a ring.
Yes, the “just a nail” jewelry looks better as a ring. I may be the only one, but I’ve never found the love bracelet attractive either. I’m a diamond bracelet gal.
I love the small version of it – it’s less clunky and fits my wrist better! Funny because the regular size really isn’t my cup of tea!
Thank you for sharing this! I’m a huge bag and jewerly gal so this is my idea of heaven!
The Cartier Love bracelet is the hamburger of jewelry.
I thought that I was the only one that took screenshots of bracelet stacks. Some of the non-Cartier pieces are stunning as well,
I have so many of these saved so figured I would share!! These are great stacks 🙂
These are beautiful! I’ve gotten away from wearing bracelets – I feel like they make my arms looks shorter somehow – but this makes me want to try again!
Hello- the photo at the top of this article- are they 2 gold Cartier bracelets stacked or one gold and one rose gold? Deciding which to do for myself.
Thanks so much
