Bulgari Collaborates With Ambush’s Yoon Ahn On Exclusive Capsule Collection

The iconic Serpenti is reimagined through the eyes of Ambush...

Storied Roman brand Bulgari was founded by a Greek silversmith in 1884. It is a brand that is not only rich in history, but world-renowned for its Italian craftsmanship. First recognized for its exquisite jewelry, the Bulgari family has defined a distinct aesthetic and reputation over its 135 years in business.

Specific House motifs and hardware are an ode to the brand’s roots, and one of the most iconic symbols of Bulgari is the Serpenti head. The Serpenti symbolizes rebirth and vitality, and it is an emblem of wisdom. Bulgari was one of the first 20th century jewelers to turn this iconic symbol into a timepiece. Eventually, Bulgari introduced consumers to handbags as well, and the Serpenti has been an iconic part of the brand’s designs, spawning an entire collection of bags and accessories.

Now, Bulgari has once again reimagined its classic Serpenti, collaborating with Tokyo-based designer, and creative director of Ambush, Yoon Ahn to create an exclusive capsule collection. Together they’ve designed ‘Serpenti Through the Eyes of Ambush’, which is a limited-edition capsule collection.

The collection contains a mix of accessories as well as various handbag shapes and silhouettes. The Serpenti Forever is reinterpreted in 3 different styles for this capsule—a shoulder bag and belt bag as well as an adorable Minaudière. Each style is characterized by plush, pillowy leather in striking colors, though true to the originals, the silhouettes themselves remain more on the structured side.

For this capsule collection I wanted to express the bold and contemporary character of Serpenti. Snakes are wondrous and fascinating creatures of nature but with Bvlgari they also became a symbol of glamour in constant evolution. Natural beauty meets human creation, all guided by a contemporary aesthetic -Yoon Ahn

In addition to black, vibrant shades of blue, green and pink are seen in this capsule, and the bags are crafted of soft nappa leather. The bags are finished with Bulgari’s distinctive Serpenti head motif closure, with stunning mother of pearl eyes and camouflaged in monochromatic tones. Bags in this capsule range from $2,450 to $6,450. The collection will be available at Bulgari stores worldwide and Bulgari.com in September, but you can take a look at the collection now and pre-order styles you’re interested in.
