To say that I was critical of the last Burberry Prorsum handbag collection might actually be an understatement; I didn’t like the bags at all, and based on your reactions to our review, I wasn’t alone. Well, it looks as though Christopher Bailey’s accessories crew may have righted the ship in time for Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 handbags – along with the collection’s splendid outwear, most of the handbags that hit the runway were intensely covetable.

I still don’t understand why Burberry insists on using its novacheck logo fabric on runway bags instead of relegating it to the regular line as most brands tend to do, but thankfully most of the tasseled satchels and smart, structured clutches were all leather. Burberry showed quite a bit of what appeared to be embossed crocodile as well, giving a collection full of texture yet another layer of visual interest. I would be happy to have every single structured clutch and all of the non-logo satchels from this show in my closet immediately.

I dunno..the bags with the oversized tassels don’t really do anything for me..the outerwear looks ok, but nothing compared to the shearling we saw last year..

  • Jess

I agree. I’ve never liked the pattern that they use. I’ve never found myself coveting or even liking one of their bags. I do, however, really like these structured clutches…but still not enough for me to shell out the money that they cost.

  • PhotoGirl

Oh, I am loving these! Those big fat tassels kind of rock my world. Want.

    • I’m generally a big fan of oversized tassels as well, for reasons that aren’t entirely clear, even to me.

  • edoardo

I lvoe these bags, ene if they are a bit far from “Burberry style” I like them!

  • Chris

I do not really like the handbags with the over sized tassels – apart from handbag #28 and 30 perhaps – but these structured clutches are absolutely fabulous! Wow!

  • Erik

I HATE NO.5 i dont know.. the embossing looks kind of cheap and fake… the large satchel with blue leather is also kind of cool.. even with the check pattern… and my favorite was no30 love that shade of red!

  • Darren

those are actual croc not embossed. I quite like the clutches… a far cry from what burberry use to be before Christopher Bailey came along. Oh and these are all available for order. talk about shopping a season ahead lol

  • Sandra Rowley

I love them…I am going straight to the Burberry web site to see how much that red leather one is!

  • Lori

The bags are too masculine for me and the tassels are too big.

But as always, I love that we get to see them all. So much fun to check out the new up and coming bags.

All the clutches are great – as are the big fat tassels (of which I am also a big fan!)! :D

  • Ping

these doctor bags are copies of prada bags that were done over 10 years ago….he just added tassels…as for the clutches, they are nothing unusual..

2,13,17,30: Yes, please! I like all of these bags, any of the four I listed I want for myself. Nicely done, Burberry.

  • Merve

I hate the big tassles and the Burberry check still screams chav to us Brits. The satchelesque clutches have already been done and just remind of countless other designers who have done it better. All in all a bit of a Bailey cop out.

I love LOVE the clutches & would feel deeply grateful if I could have the burnt orange or mustard tassle bags. My bag affair is a bit exhausting because I’m never satisfied…

  • GhstDreamer

I love the clutches but not the bags – the oversized tassels seem to ruin the look of the bags.

  • Sil

i hated those huge tassels, but some of those other clutches are just gorgeous
