I consciously decided not to say, “I don’t understand art,” this week during Art Basel. It isn’t that I actually don’t understand it, as art is meant to be interpreted by all of us differently; I suppose a more fitting response from me could be, “I love many of the pieces I see, but I can’t afford them, so I choose to say I don’t get it to soften the blow to myself.” Yes, that is probably more likely what I am feeling.
I browsed the primary Convention Center and Design Miami during Art Basel and mainly focused on the bags. I saw so many insanely amazing bags! (I am posting many of them on Instagram; you should check it all out!).
While a few different designers, mainly those focused on home decor, really stood out to me, I was enthralled by one specific inclusion: Bottega Veneta x Zanotta Sacco Lounge Chairs.
We were first introduced to these during Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2025 fashion show, and since then, I have kept thinking about these absolutely luxury bean bags. I have this very interesting knack of honing in on an item that I really don’t need, that logistically and pragmatically doesn’t make sense, but that doesn’t seem to change my desire.
And that is precisely what happened when I saw these in person. I was in love.
The Bottega Veneta x Zanotta Sacco Lounge Chairs
The playful side of fashion tends to make me feel giddy the most often. I suppose because I have plenty of utilitarian and pragmatic items, it’s now the more whimsical items that speak to me.
These lounge chairs, which I will forever deem luxury bean bags, are a limited-edition collaboration between Zanotta Sacco and the House. When Matthieu Blazy commissioned them for Bottega Veneta, he wanted them to reflect the House’s deep understanding of the fluidity and luxe nature of its leather alongside playful animal forms.
The end result is a zoo of animals in different sizes that would make for the most inviting corner addition. I have to keep talking myself out of buying one because I have found every single reason to say it is a fantastic option – down to the price, which seems entirely fair for the size of what you are getting.
Shop the entire collection before it sells out at Bottega Veneta.
I’ll take a Fox, a chicken, and a ladybug. At a minimum…$22,500. Not sure the husband would go for that!
If he loves you why not? 😊
I’m going to try that on him! LOL!
Laughed out loud at this, ’cause I mean, duh!
These are incredibly small, are they for children?
They aren’t small really? There are two sizes but all of them fit adults on them!
we all saw full grown adults sitting on them, so no.
The otter and the elephant! ❤️❤️
Both are so cute!! Ugh
