My Favorite Winter 2021 Beauty Products

Plus the cosmetic cases I'm loving!

I have said it before but I will say it again, I am a beauty junkie. I love to test new makeup, skincare, and fragrance products, and I am a bit of a cosmetics pouch hoarder. Today I’m sharing my favorite products that are tried, true and tested by me firsthand.

I always switch out my products during the winter since the air gets significantly drier and colder where I live, so many of these items are perfect for frigid winter weather. Even if you are lucky enough to live in a warm climate, I think you will like the products I’ve selected.

Without further ado, these are the products in my cosmetics rotation that I’m loving at the moment. Do you own any of these or have any recommendations for me? Let us know in the comments!

Givenchy L’Interdit Eau de Parfum ($93)

I am a self proclaimed perfume junkie, I have over 30+ bottles in my current rotation. Choosing a fragrance is a simple pleasure I take delight in each morning, I wear it every day. My most recent fragrance obsession has been Givenchy’s L’Interdit, which is French for “forbidden”. This is an excellent winter fragrance, it’s a warm floral with notes of orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, dark vetiver, and patchouli. It’s a very unique and sophisticated fragrance, and I have been neglecting my other fragrances by wearing L’Interdit on repeat over the last few weeks. Fun fact, this fragrance was created for Audrey Hepburn in 1957 before being sold to the public. Hepburn famously said that selling it to the masses was forbidden, which is where the name comes from. It was reimagined and released in 2018 with more modern notes, but it’s still a fun piece from history nonetheless.

The Marc Jacobs Triangle Pouch Small Cosmetic Case ($100)

I am always picking up cosmetic pouches and I am particularly fond of this cute Marc Jacobs cheetah print case. Weighing only 3oz, this super lightweight pouch is perfect for your vanity or carrying on the go in your handbag. You can store cosmetics, hand sanitizer, or any other miscellaneous items you may have in your bag.

NARS Bronzing Powder ($38)

Everything seems to get a little bit duller during the winter, including my skin. Bronzer is my favorite make up item because it gives me a bit of my summer glow back, and I am a bit of a snob about it if I am being honest! NARS is the only bronzer that I will use, I have been repurchasing the shade “Laguna” since 2010. This is my ride or die makeup item, and it’s one of the only things I own that I will repurchase over and over again without a second thought.

Prada Large Nylon Cosmetic Pouch ($595)

Does anyone do nylon better than Prada? (Spoiler alert: NOPE). Nylon is an excellent choice for cosmetics storage, as it is super resilient and can be easy wiped down and cleaned. I have had powders break, lipglosses leak, and perfume roller balls crack while carrying them in my handbag, so being easily cleanable is vital for cosmetics carriers. Nylon protects my leather handbags from any spills and can be washed easily, so it is a go-to for me when buying a pouch.

Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50+ Sunscreen ($49)

Sunscreen is a product I am very particular about. I hate feeling oily or having a chalky white cast, which unfortunately happens with many sunscreens I have tried. My holy grail sunscreen is Shiseido’s SPF 50+. It goes on so smooth, soaks in beautifully, and I honestly can’t even tell it’s on. Make up goes on very well over it, making it the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. It’s incredibly easy to forget about sunscreen in the winter, but most dermatologists recommend wearing it all year round. I’m almost finished with my bottle and 100% will be repurchasing.

GEHWOLmed Salve for Cracked Skin ($23)

My skin becomes significantly dryer in the winter, but this year has been extra brutal because of all of the hand sanitizer I have been using. My hands have been really dry and itchy from the hand sanitizer and my normal lotion wasn’t cutting it. I bought this GEHWOL hand lotion after reading the positive reviews online and was so pleasantly surprised with how effective it was. It soaked right in and didn’t leave a sticky residue. This hand cream comes highly recommended by not only me, but my husband loves it as well.

Tory Burch Piper Cosmetic Set ($332)

I love the cute floral details on these Tory Burch cosmetic pouches. There is an adorable quilted interior detail that I love and the pouches are made of 100% fabric, making them super easy to clean. Cosmetic pouches definitely get messier than your average handbag, so being able to wash them is key. I really like that there are 3 different sizes for different products in this set.

ROYCE New York Makeup Brush Roll ($48)

This makeup brush roll is one of my favorite items I own. I know we aren’t traveling very much this season, but this roll up brush is great for everyday use as well. If you lack storage space, these are the perfect way to store your brushes out of sight. I actually purchased this when we lived in a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment to consolidate vanity space and I continue to use it now out of convenience.

Lele Sadoughi Assorted 3-Pack Adult Face Masks ($40)

Masks are now a part of our daily lives and I am so obsessed with the selection of prints from Lele Sadoughhi. These are breathable but secure, making me feel really safe when I wear them if I have to leave the house. The cute prints are just an added bonus!

Stoney Clover Lane Masks Rainbow Pouch ($107)

I love this adorable rainbow pouch from Stoney Clover Lane for carrying my masks in my handbag. This pouch is ideal for storing clean masks or holding a mask after it has been worn. I never put a worn mask back into my handbag after wearing it since it could be contaminated with germs, so this mask pouch is my germaphobic dream. Just be sure to wipe the pouch down with disinfectant between uses!

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% ($7.90)

Speaking of masks, I have had an uptick of breakouts on my chin this winter. The Ordinary’s azelaic acid has been such a lifesaver for me, it literally makes a breakout disappear overnight. If I feel any skin irritation coming, I will put this on before bed and I wake up to clear skin. This has become a holy grail for my sensitive, rosacea prone skin!
