When I think of the Met Gala, I think of star-studded red carpets, couture gowns, and every major celebrity and fashion star in one place. But the real stars of last week, at least in our opinion, were the everyday New Yorkers we spotted out and about near the Met. The Upper East Side truly never fails to bring the bag heat, and the first week in May was no different. We spotted the usuals, Birkins, of course, and a little bit of Chanel as well as some very fun bags from Dior and Gucci. (Currently searching on Fashionphile for green Dior bags!)

The Gucci 1947 Top Handle is so great! While I usually like Dior, and the bag is nice, paying $6100.00 for a wicker bag seems crazy IMO.
The lady in the green jeans made me covet a birken bag for the first time. Also want the jeans lol.

Same here – the Birkin looks better and actually a bit tempting in this one picture over any other picture I’ve seen.
