PurseBlog Beauty: 12 Perfect Cosmetic Cases to Haul Your Makeup
We talk a lot about handbags, but what happens inside them is just as important. Our bags’ interiors are their own little worlds of wallets, pouches, accessories and essentials, and we’re in and out of them all day. That kind of organization can be especially important when it comes to toting around beauty products for … Read more
6 of the Best Bags of the Vera Bradley Sale
I was chatting with Amanda about Vera Bradley bags earlier today, and we realized that we both own them. Amanda has had one of the brand’s popular duffel bags since college, and it’s the perfect hauler, holding a bunch of items without getting heavy. I got mine when, a few years ago, I went to … Read more
Prada to Debut More Bags Under $1,400
Earlier this week, Bloomberg reported a little bit of good news for handbag lovers and Prada aficionados alike: the brand plans to ramp up its selection of bags under €1,200, which translates to around $1,400USD.
The 30 Best Resort 2016 Bags, from Balenciaga to Tory Burch
While Resort 2016 shows aren’t quite over yet–resort and pre-fall, unlike fall and spring, don’t have designated weeks in which the shows occur–things are definitely winding down, and almost all of the major brands have shown us what they’ve got. We combed through dozens of shows and lookbooks, and based on what we found, we’ve … Read more
The Céline Box Bag is Having a Little Moment This Week, Plus More Celeb Bag Picks
We’ve always adored the Céline Classic Box Bag, and this week, celebs are reminding us why we love it so much. Even though it was temporarily eclipsed by the Luggage Tote for a year or two (or three), the Box may be a more enduring style. It’s not as distinct as Céline’s styles that have reached It Bag distinction, of course, but its simplicity is the key to its charm.
Introducing Ghurka Handbags
We recently had a member of the PurseBlog team visit Ghurka to check out the brand’s bags, and while it’s still a brand I don’t know well, I realized we haven’t covered them since the early PurseBlog days. Ghurka is not a newcomer, but it deserves a reintroduction to PurseBlog.
Ghurka began in the 1970s, and its leather bags and accessories are all handmade by master artisans in America. Each design is individually numbered and registered, which makes each Ghurka bag unique. The bags are meant to be worn and enjoyed, but Ghurka also stands behind the bags and builds them to provide a lifetime of use.
Chanel’s New Wallet On Chain Bag is a Spin on the Classic Flap
We talk about Chanel‘s seasonal bags at length, but some of the brand’s most-loved accessories fly under the radar in the “small leather goods” category. That includes the Chanel Wallet On Chain, which is precisely what it sounds like–a large wallet with the brand’s popular leather-woven shoulder strap, which can be carried as a small … Read more
Valentino Resort 2016’s Bags Take Cues from the American West
By now, we know two things to expect from any Valentino collection: the detailing is going to be incredibly rich and intricate, and you’re going to find some studs here and there. The Valentino Resort 2016 bag collection is heavier on the former than the latter, but it’s still pure, unadulterated Valentino. Over the past … Read more
PurseBlog Asks: How Long Can the Hermès Birkin Stay on Top?
Last week, Bloomberg published an interesting look at the enduring popularity of the Hermès Birkin, highlighting the bag’s somewhat unlikely endurance in a fashion landscape besotted with novelty. Over a decade after Sex and the City centered an entire episode around a character’s quest for a Birkin, women are still questing for it all over the globe. How long can that last?
PurseBlog in the Press: Racked Ladies Who Launch
A few weeks ago, we went to the Racked NY offices to photograph the team to show you The Many Bags of Racked. The team at Racked approached me afterward to include me in their Ladies Who Launch series, which features women and the businesses they start.
