JADEtribe Elizabeth Messenger Bag

I understand that I may be alone on this one, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. Unlike, well, a lot of people, I love the strange mountainous bohemian style that JADEtribe propones. It just has so many things that I like very much, not to mention that it is eco-friendly. Allow me to remind you that there was an um, GIGANTIC oil spill recently, so we should care about our planet.

Kooba Sam Leather Grommet Bag: Is art deco officially a trend?

I don’t mean to jump the gun here, but does it seem to anyone else that art deco details are sort of being a Thing? We’ve seen some signs of it lately in Rebecca Minkoff’s most recent designs, and now the Kooba Sam Leather Grommet Bag is making me think that might not be a mistake.

From what I remember, we didn’t see too much 20s revival on the runways last season, but not all trends come directly from the top, particularly in accessories. As the old saying goes, two is a coincidence and three’s a trend, but I’d posit that it can’t be too long before we see more of the same. The 20s are one of the few decades that haven’t been mined for inspiration in the past few years, and I’m sure that designers will tire of the 60s and 70s soon enough.

Weekend Obsession: Hermes Silk Ties

A horse is a horse, of course, of course… This weekend’s obsession visits the gentleman’s department. At around $170, Hermes’ beautiful silk ties are a (relatively) cheap entry into the world of men’s luxury fashion. The silk is among the finest available and the prints are highly colorful and come in funny and playful patterns. … Read more

Marc by Marc Jacobs Mini Vanity PVC Wash Bag

There are two things that this bag reminds me of. First, it reminds me of that giant metallic silver Louis Vuitton Alma that Kim Kardashian wore to the beach awhile back. Yes, really. That’s the first thing that came to mind. Don’t judge, we’re bag people here! The second thing that this resembles is an incredibly useful L.L.Bean wash bag that my dear old dad uses, without fail, for every vacation to pack his toiletry essentials.

DKNY Chain Double Flap Crossbody Bag

Honestly, I find myself forgetting about some handbag lines from time to time. DKNY is one of them. I guess I think of the “big brands” more often. But, I do promise I’ll try to do better. And if DKNY continues to churn out bags like this one, I would most likely be inclined to remember a bit easier.

Sure, there really isn’t anything *that* special going on with the DKNY Chain Double Flap Crossbody Bag, however, there is something about it that I really like. Come to think of it, it has been a while since I’ve found myself not really being able to put my finger on why I like a given bag so much. I welcome the challenge.

A Truly Red Leather Mulberry Bayswater Hits Net-A-Porter

This bag is red. I mean shockingly, bright, bold, in-your-face red. The kind of red that is a bit hard to wear. I am always seeing women that rock true red lipstick and make it look perfectly gorgeous. Let me be honest, I am not one of those women. Red lipstick looks scary on me. It just doesn’t seem to flow. And I am not sure I could pull off a truly red bag. But once Net-A-Porter showed the red Mulberry Bayswater with a summery outfit, it worked perfectly and I thought just for a second, ‘Hey, that could be me’.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Moon Sling Small Crossbody will perk up a rainy day

I don’t know what’s been going on elsewhere in the country, but it’s been kind of a wet spring in my neck of the woods. And it always seems to rain on weekends, precisely when I want to go somewhere fabulous or do something exciting or wear something new, completely foiling my plans. Obviously, I’m bitter.

But if there’s anything that could make me happy again, it would be a rain-appropriate bag that’s still sunny enough to make me forget about bad weather. Perhaps something like the Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Q Moon Sling Small Crossbody is just what the doctor ordered?

Linea Pelle Dylan Leather Messenger Bag

It is absolutely no secret that I am a huge Linea Pelle fan. I love their bags, belts and accessories. The great thing about this brand is that nothing is bogged down with too much hardware, frills, or random designs – just because. This brand sticks to what it is good at and that is one of the main reasons it is so successful. Each item is made of fabulous leather that seriously gets better the more you use it. I dare you to show me a Linea Pelle bag that doesn’t age gracefully.

All of this being said, it doesn’t mean that I don’t yearn to expand how many Linea Pelle bags and accessories I have in my closet. In fact, I think that is something I need to do ASAP. Perhaps this Linea Pelle Dylan Leather Messenger Bag is where I might start.

Bottega Veneta Perforated Leather Bag

For the most part, I’ve always considered Bottega Veneta to be a classic, iconic brand. The intrecciato weaving technique is one that can be spotted from across the room or even across a busy street. Personally, it is the classic element of the brand that I love and have come to always expect.

Now, just because there are certain things I expect from a brand like Bottega Veneta does not mean that I cannot appreciate when they think and design a little bit out of the box. Certainly, in order for the design to work, what has *made* the brand what it is needs to be upheld and visible at some point. Thankfully, in this instance, BV tried something a little different and it worked.

Show a Pop of Pink with this Nancy Gonzalez Clutch

Hello Nancy Gonzalez, we have missed you in our lives. It is not for a lack of designs, I simply have not been drawn to you in a while. And I think I know why. One of the biggest upsides is also the biggest downside for designer Nancy Gonzalez, her designs are very seamless and very expected. There is no hardware being used and the designs are very ‘Nancy Gonzalez’, if you know what I mean. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but sometimes a design needs to catch my eye a bit more.

The Nancy Gonzalez Shiny Frame Crocodile Clutch does grab my attention with its brightly colored pink Caiman fuscus crocodile skin and simple yet sleek design.

Rebecca Minkoff Eyelet Clutch

If there’s something I’m a fan of, it’s oversized clutches. I don’t own one, but I still appreciate them, and this Rebecca Minkoff Eyelet Clutch certainly personifies the unique qualities that I’d look for in a big clutch.

Signature Rebecca Minkoff hardware? Check. Detachable chain strap? Check. And finally, it has cute little metal feet. I’m a sucker for those. The soft peach color provides a nice contrast to the silver hardware, making the combination the perfect marriage of girly and slightly rocker. Tea party toughness, if you will.
