We might have some chilly mornings left, but I heard the first ice cream truck of the year in my neighborhood yesterday, and that means spring is here! Also, spring is here on the calendar, officially. Anyone who’s done any window-shopping lately could have already told you that, though, but now that what will hopefully be winter’s last snow has been cleared from New York’s sidewalks, we’re ready to get down to one of the most fun parts of the season: the shoes.
Unlike winter-specific shoes, which have to perform the sometimes tricky task of keeping you warm, dry and upright, the primary purpose of spring shoes is to look cute and have fun. That makes them so much more satisfying to buy than boots, doesn’t it? Warm-weather shoes are only fun if you can wear them, though, and the amount of time we spend walking when the weather improves means that we like our picks pretty functional.
With that in mind, we looked around for the best flat, low- and moderate-heel shoes we could find, including sneakers and loafers along with plenty of sandals and slides. Check them all out below, starting around $100.
