I Used to Hate Bucket Bags Until This One Converted Me

I was wrong about this one...

Bottega Veneta Liberta Bucket Bag 1

I might be a Taurus, but luckily, I’m not the type of Taurean who is too stubborn to admit when they’re wrong. This here is my formal apology to the bucket bag—and bucket bag lovers everywhere. I’m sorry I said you gave me the ick. I was wrong about you; please forgive me!

Justice for the Bucket Bag

Sometimes, all it takes is the right one to make you fall in love, and that’s exactly what’s happened to me, thanks to the Bottega Veneta Liberta Bucket Bucket bag. The Liberta Bucket bag dropped late last year, and not only was it the first of Bottega’s smooth leather series that I was drawn to, but the newest addition to the Liberta family was the first bucket bag that had me thinking I needed to go back on my ick.

Prior to the Liberta, I found bucket bags to just turn me off for some reason. No matter the brand, size, color, or shape, the bucket bag always seemed to fall short for me. Maybe it was simply the drawstring closures that accompany many bucket bags that gave me the ick and not the bucket bag silhouette itself.

Or maybe, as one does, my tastes have just changed. This spring, bucket bags are chicher (and sleeker) than ever. While the Liberta Bucket bag is at the top of my favorites list, I’ve shockingly, to no one but me, been drawn to a few others. I no longer find them all somewhat cumbersome and a bit messy. I’ve actually come to feel like the bucket bag is an essential shape everyone should have in their closet.

Go ahead, tell me you told me so!

When it comes to bucket bags, my heart always leans back to the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag. Oh do we still remember those days when they were sold out in 1 minute……

King Charles' Leaky Inkpot

…that black one with the red interior was THE MOMENT. I never managed to get one of those, but still happy with the brandy-raw interior one I carry to this day

Talking about bucket bags, there is new beautiful design from LUPO (Barcelona) named DEIA based on a tulip. LUPO is known from its iconic model ABANICO, and this small brand by focusing in few model, quite unique, would deserve more attention for unique designs coupled to excellent leather and manufacture. I think it is worth to have a look, I have just received an alert about this new Bucket from LUPO.

But going into my favourite bucket for the last three years, this is the model Lexie from Decadent (Copenhagen) , I cannot stop taking my Lexie out for errant. In general, Decadent offered leather of excellent quality and adorable touch. Quality is not always associated with high-end prices. I think the this blog is missing many high quality European brands, except Polene.

I wish that a blog about handbag could provide some imput about handbags and novelties beyond the big brands because those brands advertised heavily by themselves and offered pictures everywhere. That type of more detailed information in this blog with own pictures is certainly appreciated but most of the time is not offering new knowledge about handbags. The difficult work is discovering high quantity and novelty in design outside that circle. That is the direction where I wish to get informed at a handbag specialised blog. Thanks for consider my reflection.

I agree. This blog has basically become a stan account for the large, expensive brands and that’s it. Why? They could do large inexpensive companies, small high end companies, specialty bag companies, bag accessory styles around the world. There is so much out there to discover and this blog has just fallen behind all of that at this point and feels like one big advertisement. It used to feel like an energetic and dynamic blog, I don’t know what happened.

These are beautiful, I would also like to see more unique and novel designs and brands besides the grand ones

I kind of like the Gucci 73 mini bucket bag, at least better than the options above.

Still a no for me, but love whenever a handbag sparks joy for others❤️

Adding The Row N/S Park tote in size small to the list! Been enjoying mine and love how it could be dress up/ down, fits just enough while also accommodate taller items. Also could be carried on the shoulder in a case when I need both of my hands free
