While my husband opts for in-depth YouTube videos and educational podcasts, I like to wind down with reality TV. The heart wants what it wants, and while I know plenty of the reality shows I watch are far from reality, the made-for-TV drama always gives me a good laugh and feels like the best end-of-day escape.
I don’t watch every Real Housewives franchise, but one I never miss is the Beverly Hills spin-off of the show. I like each woman for different reasons, find many of their interactions delightfully asinine while also funny, and their bag game is one of the best in the show’s lineup. This isn’t the first time we’ve visited the bags the cast carries; it’s actually the third (see part one here and part two here).
The cast has changed a bit, and so have the bags, so let’s take a deep dive to see what the ladies of Bravo’s famed show have been carrying!
In 2017, Kyle’s home was robbed, and her Hermès collection was targeted, with all of her bags being stolen. Over the past few years, Richards has built her handbag collection again, showing a penchant for Hermès in many colors and sizes.
She loves other designer brands, including Chanel, and she even carried a fan-favorite under $1,000 Cult Gaia. While there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of talk about Kyle and her husband’s relationship status, I’m just here for the bags.
Dorit has also had a bit of a rough year after a break-in at her house when she and her young children were home. However, one thing Dorit possesses is resilience… and a love for high fashion. Dorit’s bag collection is quite lovely and includes a touch of everything. She likes to go all in with themes; her bags will always match. This is only scratching the surface of her collection!
Erika’s style can be described as loud, strong, and proud, just like Erika herself. Some of her bags aren’t as straightforward to identify, which makes them all the more fun. You never know what you will get with Erika, and that includes everything from her hairstyle on any given day to her bag choice to how she will interact with the cast. She’s kinda scary but also really amazing.
There was a pretty big storyline regarding Garcelle getting a Birkin, which is still referenced to this day. I love that Garcelle calls out how expensive Hermès bags are and feels more realistic with her approach to fashion and designer items. There’s a relatability with Garcelle, and it feels refreshing – just as she is with her witty quips!
Sutton, with her small esophagus, is also a bag girl. She doesn’t post as many pictures with her colorful Hermès collection online but has a closet filled with candy-colored H bags. It’s nice to see other brands being carried by her as well, as I am not a brand loyalist, and while I love Chanel and Hermès, I also appreciate some other mixed brands.
Crystal Kung Minkoff
Crystal’s introduction to the group hasn’t been as smooth. The group is always asking her to speak up because she comes off relatively passive, but when she does, she throws in a name or two. After all, she’s had it up to here with the nonsense!
Her bag collection is the sleeper collection of the group. She isn’t as loud or attention-grabbing as Kyle, but I think she may secretly have the best collection of the group. I can’t forget her Faubourg Birkin sitting on the counter when Kyle came to her house last season. I actually guarantee Kyle can’t either!
Newcomer Annmarie Wiley has joined the group and immediately dipped her toes in hot water with her obsession with the size of Sutton’s esophagus. She really went hard on this storyline, which is absurd, but this is how reality TV goes. It’s all for the story.
They made up at the end of the last episode, and we are back to getting to know more about Annmarie. She is a nurse, not a doctor, as Crystal swears she told her (honestly, I thought she said it as well, but I must have dreamt it, as I’ve never met her), who clearly loves Chanel bags.
