The Insane Value of the Many Bags of Marjorie Harvey

The total value of her ultra-rare, exotic bags is mind-blowing

I get stuck in the social media video loop sometimes—okay, many times. My algorithm should be studied because it is as varied as it gets, from designer bags (natch) to Taylor Swift deep dives to kids’ hairstyles to men’s workouts to funny videos.

I always watch these funny videos in full, and one person who graces my screen often is Steve Harvey. As host of Family Feud, Steve Harvey needs to be quick on his feet. His wit and humor delight me.

Outside of his TV hosting duties, Steve and his wife, Marjorie Harvey, are major fashion aficionados. Both are seen as friends of the House outside the biggest name shows, and Marjorie’s bag collection is not to be slept on.

The Ultra-Rare Collector

This isn’t the first time we’ve visited the bags that Marjorie Harvey carries—in fact, we did a post on her bags in 2016 and added up the value of her bags at the time. We decided to revisit Marjorie, who is currently in Europe on what appears (from an outsider’s perspective) to be the most luxe family trip.

Her bag game has continued to grow, and some bags are ones she has repeated. As she should! Marjorie is a massive fan of exotics, and in the world of designer bags and big names, the exotics are the ultimate peak for many. Though not all of us are fans of exotic leathers, it still remains that the price tag is exponential, and the bags themselves are rare when it comes to exotic skins.

While I assume Marjorie purchases her bags at retail at the boutiques, we included a mix of current retail value and comparable resale value when the price at retail isn’t known to us. Plus, let me admit, it’s fun to see the fluffed pricing that someone like me would need to shell out to get my hands on one of these bags!

The Total Value Is…

Today’s roundup of Marjorie’s bags totals a cool $1.365 million. And I am sure this is just the tip of the handbag collection iceberg that looms in her closet.

Pull up a chair and a cozy drink and find yourself delighted (while some will also be enraged that I used resale pricing!) to see the many ultra-rare bags of Marjorie Harvey!

A note on methodology: When known, we’ve used a bag’s original retail price. When unknown or when the bag’s market value far exceeds what it may have been purchased for at original retail, we’ve used prices sourced from respected auction houses and handbag brokers.

Yikes. I’d hate to think how many reptiles have died for this woman…

Brio flores

I agree. Its disgusting. All of us as followers of high fashion need to be aware of the sourcing of our bags… It’s painful sometimes… Things like calfskin et. The older I get the more I support Stella McCartney! As a fashion artist as well as an ethical designer

Irene

I look at it more like , the reptiles have already died, Might as well not let it be in vain.. same goes for the cows, goat and ostrich.
I wonder if there is a “purse blog of quilted fabric “ out there for you to enjoy.

Brio Flores

No. The crocodiles die on the crocodile farm and they are tortured from all the accounts from the animal organizations wake up!

J B

Well Irene way to be open and sensitive to how other people may feel about things. You sound like a peach.

Julie

No need to get snarky. And as we all know, Hermes farms crocodiles specifically for its bags. They don’t die for other reasons.

Brio flores

Irene, there have been numerous exposés on the horrific way the crocodiles on the Hermes crocodile farms are killed… It’s not a good situation. I don’t think anybody should support that… I’m not trying to be condescending just to inform… I’m guilty myself of buying calf skin and I don’t like it, but I think we need to be informed. Just google the information and you will see for yourself 🙏

Pip

Crocs are killed by one shot into the brain. You should watch one of the shows about crocodile hunters, that’s where you’ll find the truth.

Sarah

I love her love of fashion! She looks like she’s having fun with it and really enjoys the brands!

Antonia

I agree! The opposite of quiet luxury but good for her for having fun with fashion!!

Paris

Some of her outfits are too Vegas showgirl, but her bags are 😍!

Ny2024c

Marjorie has so much fun with her clothes and accessories and she brings a smile to my face 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Thefashionableteacher

I love seeing people having fun with fashion. I like the different shapes, silhouettes, textures, a colors. Not everyone wants to see fifty shades of beige.

Catie

The commentary is really salty on this post, this blog is about purses and she has extraordinary bags. Not sure why some people seem so bothered by that…

Josieverona

Ridiculous

Slim

Totally!!!

Amanda R

Very Hunger Games looks, here. Some cute bags though.

Mandy

Mrs. Harvey has a beautiful collection! On a side note, I see June Ambrose photographed in one of the photos— I wonder if she’s the family stylist? Thanks for sharing the eye candy, PurseBop: Love your content!

Vlad Dusil

You surely meant PurseBlog 😉

Gigi

I’m not sure why we are supposed to celebrate someone who prefers to spend insane amounts of money on bags rather than use that money to support her community. It just feels a bit out of touch while so many people go hungry.

Kimberly Bowen

Why do you think it has to be either/or? Why can’t it be BOTH? You’re assuming she doesn’t give money to her community or other worthwhile causes? There’s a lot to unpack there that says more about baseless assumptions on your part instead of someone else.

The Digital Maven

Then why are you here? Get lost

Thefashionableteacher

You do realize that this is a site about handbags. There are plenty of sites devoted to social service programs, foundations, and charitable organizations. This isn’t one of them.

Vlad Dusil

How do you know that she’s not doing both?

While her luxury purchases are available for us, the public eye, to appreciate, her philanthropic efforts may not be quite as obvious.

Gigi

She’s obviously not doing it with the money from these bags. Duh. 🙄 The way this post is written is a bit tone deaf.

spoiledinseattle

Their estimated net worth is over $250 million, these bags are a mere fraction of their wealth. They also run their own charitable foundation. It took less than a minute to find all of this out via Google, you should try it out!

Irene

Maybe they DO contribute to society.
Why do you think it has to be an “either -or” situation? It CAN be both. Especially when your Steve Harvey.
I never get why people go on here to get on their high horse and pass judgement .

Paris

“High horse and pass judgment”? You’re contradicting yourself when you responded to Julie. As a reminder, you wrote: “I wonder if there is a “purse blog of quilted fabric” out there for you to enjoy”. There’s no room for your sardonic response on this blog. Do better.

A Woman Of A Certain Age

There is always room for humour. It’s a PURSE blog for heavens sake!

spoiledinseattle

Her looks always seem true to her personality and not trend driven which is so refreshing! She has some drool-worthy bags for sure

Helda

HAHA She is literally covered in designer clothes with zero personality.

Lola

Most of these outfits look like costumes rather than fashion.

Larry

Well…interesting ladies. I thought this was a “bag” review? It turns out to be “hag” on each
other!

Pip

Way too many people who just want to argue, virtue signal, bash celebrities and each other. It’s getting really old. Might be time for PurseBlog to reconsider allowing comments.

Rania

Based on reports of sweatshop.labor and literally zero resale value those Diors and Gucci are likely worth nothing. Waiting for the reports on similar practices by Chanel to come out based on the quality decline

Fabuleux

To be fair, this is the case with most items considered “luxury.” It’s all marketing smoke and mirrors. Empty talks featuring meaningless terms like “storied,” “iconic,” “heritage,” “classic,” etc.

J B

So she is basically spending his money and what she makes off social media? Garish style imo. I hope they are planning for retirement as it looks like she is trying her hardest to spend it all on worthless one off clothing.

Anne

Well, if I have learned one thing today it is that there are a Lot of very judgmental people out there. Also, Mrs. Harvey has a lot of stuff. My thought is that if she read the comments she would laugh and laugh.

Mary

The rude comments are unnecessary; I love her style! Different strokes make the world go round. Would I have that many of the same type of bag? No, but obviously, she loves what she buys. Good for her, don’t be a hater. I am a Chanel collector, more vintage in recent years; I always buy what I love, and when you do that, you’ll always have joy in your closet!

KateM

Her clothes are insane! And she looks amazing in every look!
