It’s been a decade since Alber Elbaz joined Lanvin, and since his start the brand has taken a turn for the better. More people recognize Lanvin and consider it a brilliant collection, myself included. To …
Lanvin is one of those designers that gets everyone at the PurseBlog office amped up and ready to shop – Vlad even has a pair of Lanvin kicks. We are total fan-girls (and guy). The …
Last week, I went with a few friends to see the Collection of Elizabeth Taylor at Christie’s in NYC. From extravagant evening gowns to Chanel bags galore, there was a wide array of items to see. But the driving force behind this viewing for the majority of people there was Liz Taylor’s jewels, and boy did they sparkle! I found plenty of items that were gorgeous (but not quite my taste) that I will forever dream about owning. The overall theme was diamonds, as they were found on nearly every single piece of jewelry she owned.
And just as the saying goes, “diamonds are a girls best friend”, I was completely enamored with all of the bling. So I have been in a diamond state of mind for over a week and recently the Lanvin Diamond-Print Canvas Tote popped up on Net-A-Porter. (more…)
I know you come to us to see the latest and greatest in the designer handbag world, but sometimes there are trends that simply do not work and are so ugly that they are asking to be called out. For this fall and winter season, many designers brought both real and faux fur to their collections. The bad news is, most of the renditions fell short of our fashionable expectations.
I have compiled six of the worst fur bags for fall, because a what the hell were they thinking post is the perfect midweek pick-me-up. Sit back, sip your coffee, avoid other necessities in your life, and laugh at these atrocities. (more…)
Friday, you are here!! That means fist pumps and party time, or in my case shopping, movies, and long walks. Either way, TGIF to all PurseBlog readers. I wanted to end this week on a light note, with the clever yet hilarious Lanvin Fall-Winter 2012 Ad Campaign video.
We’ve got Pitbull music in the background and beautiful models adorned in Lanvin attempting to dance. I think this video reminds me why most models bodies are better for runway walks and still photos versus awkward dance moves. We’ve got a dash of uncoordinated movements paired with flimsy head rolls and lots of arm swinging. All-in-all, this video is sure to brighten your day, and make you get up out of your seat and dance. Because, after all, you won’t look much weirder than the ladies and gents in this video.
And don’t miss Alber Elbaz dancing his way through two male models to end the video. Now go have an amazing weekend, dance like no one is watching, and we will be back Monday!
I love a well-rounded eclectic mix of new items arriving at one of our online favorite online boutiques, Net-A-Porter.com. This Wednesday the new arrivals in the bag world come from Jerome Dreyfuss, Gucci, Mulberry, Chloe, Reed Krakoff and Lanvin. Do any of these bags catch your eye?
Lanvin bags are typically synonymous with feminine and beautiful. When it comes to this feathered bag however, Lanvin is teetering on the edge of gorgeous and a total miss. Amanda previously covered this bag and it received mixed reviews. Question is, what do you think of it? Buy via Bergdorf Goodman for $1,185.
Fill in the blank in the comments below: The Lanvin Feathered Ouloulette Bag is _______. (more…)
The bag that kept my attention however is the Lanvin Leaf Box Clutch. We did not cover this in our runway review, but it deserves a prevalent spot among other Spring 2011 bags. (more…)
I know, I know, casual chic sounds so cliche. And it is. But I use it for this bag because it describes the Lanvin Relex Shopping Sac ideally. We have become accustomed to seeing Lanvin add flowers or bows, but this bag is entirely void of both. And while it may be void of these two accessories, the overall allure of the bag is its casual wearability.
Lanvin is a brand you are going to dish out more money for. But the product shows the attention to detail and luxury materials. I have felt the leather they use for many of their bags… divine. If this lambskin shopping tote is remotely as soft as it looks in pictures, it will be one of those bags you will not want to take your hands off. (more…)
Ohh it has hit me. I have a new love and it is this sexy little bag. It has all the makings of a great bag, it is chic and sexy and metallic and I love it! The Lanvin Happy Partage Metallic Lame Bag includes everything that a great handbag should.
The gunmetal color offers the perfect tinge of metallic which continues to be a must have for a handbag collection. I am feeling at a loss for words, because I just adore this bag. The gold-tone chain and leather shoulder strap gives a shabby chic vibe, that it totally rocking in my book. I just want it. I don’t need it, but I want it. Really badly. It will rock skinnys and a tee during the day and dress up your LBD at night. I attempted to put place myself on a handbag ban, but I could cave for this Lanvin bag. Buy through Net A Porter for $1915.
