After five years of running PurseBlog, it is rare that I run into a brand new designer that I feel absolutely amazed, excited, and captivated by. That is precisely what I feel when I look at Peter Nitz Zurich designs. His designs captured my attention from the very first glance and have yet to let me go. Peter’s dream was to own an atelier where he would shape and stitch the finest available skins entirely by hand and accent them with beautiful jewelry to create unique and precious handbags. And this dream has come true in his namesake company. Most of the designs from the masterpieces collection are custom made to order. The prices vary depending on the combination of the type and size of the skins used along with which piece of jewelry is used.

On using brooches in his designs Peter told me,

“I am a collector and lover of all things vintage and antique. I was always drawn to these amazing antique brooches that just do not get the attention they deserve because brooches are not really that fashionable these days. Bags on the other hand are! So I thought it would be a great way to bring these incredible pieces of jewelry back to life again.”

Adriana Castro Modish Clutch

One of our new favorite designers here, who lives just down the street, is Adriana Castro. We recently reviewed her Vibora clutch and you all loved it. And while I loved that clutch, there is a different clutch from this Colombian beauty that I adore even more, the Adriana Castro Modish Clutch. Now this is divine! And while there is a gold and black version, the natural unbleached version 100% has my vote. This clutch is designed with Caiman fuscus crocodile, from her own crocodile farm in Colombia. But the love that I have for this clutch is the sleek modern look and the natural feel. Actually, this is one of those clutches that I don’t have much to say about, not because I can’t think of it, but the only thing that comes to mind is love. The inside has an open pocket and suede lining. Dimensions are perfect to be handheld, and wide enough to give you ample carrying space, 8″H x 16″W x 2″D. So here I sit, quite close to where this young talented designer lives, and I am wondering if I can find a way into her showroom and nab one of these beauties. This is one of those situations where I say ‘buy it because I said so’, kind of like a mom would tell a kid, so just believe me. Buy through Adriana Castro for $1595.

Earlier this week I brought you the Sang A River Square Tote, which has become a staple for this flourishing young designer. Sang A is worth talking about and worth the slow growing hype. The Korean-born Sang A did not start out as a designer, though her track in life has been anything but ordinary. Sang A was a popular stage/television actress and singer and release three pop music albums on a major label by age 26. Talk about accomplished. But one of her true loves and passions came from costumes, colors, and styling of her stage outfits, which ultimately lead her to take on design and move to New York City. Her accessories were launched in the Spring of 2006 and since the launch her popularity has shifted from being known as a singer to being known as a designer. Sang A focuses on the art of luxury; using exotic skins that are meticulously treated. The style lines are clean and leave an impression. When speaking about her designs Sang A states, “My design exudes the essence of modern classic with a dose of avant garde”. Below are four of my favorite handbags from the Fall/Winter 08 line from Sang A. The colors stand alone, the skins are extravagant, and the designs are the perfect touch of modern. Find more information on the designer at Sang A online. To order call 212-564-4433 or email store@sanga.com . Also, Vivre sells Sang A and has a great selection!

Jada Loveless Isabel Clutch
Jada Loveless Isabel Clutch

There was something so regal and eye-catching about this ruby clutch when I first spotted it on Lipstick Jungle. The handbags of Lipstick Jungle instantly turn me green with envy. While many of the designers are household names, many are also not as well known but have handbags that are absolutely stunning. One of the bags I was drawn to most was the Jada Loveless Isabel Clutch, which is designed with exotic alligator with a vermeil clasp encrusted with faceted amethyst and cabochon rubies. The clutch looked divine on screen but is even more amazing that I would have thought! The size is perfect to be hand held, 8″ W x 4″ H x 2″ D, and will look stunning on the red carpet or for a night on the town. The distinctive style is designed with attention to detail. Each bag is constructed by hand and features meticulous craftsmanship. Jada Loveless focuses on the details and has a passion and appreciation for the fashion industry. She graduated from Parsons School of Design and The University of Georgia and has worked as a Public Relations Executive for Neiman Marcus, in the offices of Celine/LVMH in New York, Drysdale Design Associates in Washington, D.C., and as a contributing fashion editor for The Atlantan. The price is $5400, which is steep, but you get what you pay for. Inquire further through Jada Loveless online.
