The Row Alligator Drawstring Bucket Bag

As I sit on my couch and look out the window, a bright blue sunny sky is all I see over NYC right now. Only problem is that it is still cold. I am sure for many of you these temperatures are not that bad, but I’m a Florida transplant and my fingers are almost too cold to type. You think I’m kidding? I’m not – take a peek at what I look like as I try to work today.

Anyhow, back to the bags. I may still be bundling up with a warm winter coat but I have spring on my mind. And for spring one of the major trends is having a bright bold ladylike bag adorning your arm. I would love to infuse color and an exotic skin into my collection with the Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Chain-Strap Shoulder Bag. (more…)

One of the masters of exotic skins in the handbag world is Carlos Falchi. He is known for his skins and bold colors. We both know and love him for that.

I am completely drawn to the Carlos Falchi Grande Boat Anaconda Hobo. This bag will clearly work for day-to-day wear and has a gorgeous grey-silver color combination. I am finding myself totally loving everything about this bag, including the sizable shoulder drop. But it is mostly about the color on the anaconda skin. And with this being Carlos Falchi, we know it will be divine in person as well. (more…)

Back in September, Amanda covered the Abaco Jamily Metallic Python Crossbody bag. The only thing she said could lead her to loving this bag more was if it were finished in gunmetal. LOOK AMANDA! They did it. Just for you. Amanda asks, and Abaco answers.

Right now I am finding myself in a bag lull. The ladylike minimalistic bags are great, but it is a little dull to continuously cover. In all reality, this bag stopped me quickly when doing my usual perusing of online shops. I am on the biggest crossbody kick right now, finding it so entirely helpful when walking around the City to have both hands free. And the design of the Abaco Jamily Metallic Python Crossbody Bag is something both Amanda and I love. It is a mixture of practical and hip. (more…)

Bottega Veneta Truffle Soft Crocodile Hobo Bag

On the twelfth day of Bottega Veneta we have our best photos and bags yet, a duo of Croc bags, the finest we have ever met!

How can I begin to describe our final day of Bottega Veneta without typing in all caps followed by an absurd number of exclamation points? It is nearly impossible. I want to stand on top of my couch with my lap top in my hands and scream my excitement over these two bags and the photos Vlad took.

To answer one of your first questions, yes that is a live alligator in our photos. To be precise, he is a four year old alligator named Wally who lives at Everglades Holiday Park in Florida. Next answer is also yes, that is two exotic Crocodile BV bags that Wally is posing with. So let’s get to it! (more…)

We first brought you news of Bird Handbags over two years ago. The ritzy hippie vibe appealed to many and we were digging the designs. The Lady was a favorite (I still wear my Lady often) and the One Night Stand Clutch followed closely behind.

Net A Porter is carrying another version of the Bird Handbags One Night Stand with a natural colored snakeskin body and brown ostrich double handles. (more…)

Carlos Falchi Boat Hobo

Carlos Falchi has always been a designer that I find very intriguing. While I find the man behind the designs interesting, the designs are able to speak for themselves. While he also uses leathers, Falchi employs the use of exotics to brand his name, showing us eye catching bags in python, ostrich and crocodile. But now I am drawn in by the demure Carlos Falchi Boat Hobo, whose sleek and slouchy design I find appealing. The shape is a typical hobo, which leaves the black python skin to do all the work. The shoulder strap is braided, adding another dimension. I am a little let down by the print nylon lining, only as I crave something more luxurious when opening this bag. The interior means business, with a key clip, two zip pockets, two open pockets, and two pen pockets. Buy through Saks for $2450.
