A certain iconic handbag has become something of a hot topic this week (more on that later this morning), but earlier this week, we were all were blithely unaware of the coming storm. Celebrities stepped …

What's In Her Bag: Danielle and Jodie Snyder of Dannijo (38)

This past holiday weekend brought sale season with it, and during our three days off, the PurseBlog team spent plenty of time perusing and plotting our potential discount purchases. Below, check out some of our …

Technically, this may not be a Perfect Pair, but I just couldn’t help myself. I was in the accessories zone. Sometimes all it takes is one accessory to ignite the perfect look, and that’s exactly …

Despite the fact that it snowed last night, the PurseBlog team is determined to think spring. Maybe if we embody the season’s aesthetic hard enough, we’ll force the weather to turn over and stay that …

The holidays get very expensive very quickly. Not only are there gifts to buy, but there are parties (both to attend and to throw), holiday dinners, travel expenses and a whole other hosts of costs …

PurseBlog may be a site about designer handbags, but more importantly it is about the woman who loves designer handbags. She lives a certain lifestyle, she loves her jewelry, sunglasses, wallet, and clothing. She may style her outfit around her bag, but she is very aware of everything she is wearing. This woman is me. In fact, she is every handbag lover I know.

Recently I’ve been going gaga for jewelry. I blame it partially on Man Repeller and her Arm Party and partially on the fact that I simply love accessories. DANNIJO is a jewelry line designed by two very chic sisters that I adore for their funky, contemporary aesthetic, an aesthetic that is entirely me. (more…)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, PurseBloggers! Erin go bragh! Ireland forever!

Ok, I’m not Irish. Not even close. (German, actually. So I am pale, just not Irish.) But St. Patrick’s Day is kind of fun in a silly, green-beer-and-shamrocks sort of way, and so is all of the green that comes with it. Share your favorite green accessories with us in the comments! (more…)

It’s that time of year again! To launch our Gift Guides 2010 series, we thought we’d start small, with the type of accessories that almost everyone needs but people sometimes forget when looking for fashionable presents: Tech Toys. We have cute cases for every gadget in your collection, plus a couple other things that might come in handy (or just look really cool). Whether you’re giving this stuff to your friends, your family or yourself, everyone is sure to find something they like where fashion meets function in the most literal sense. (more…)

It might be a bit early to declare box bags as a trend, but the sight of Victoria Beckham carrying one a little while back and now the appearance of fall’s Alexander Wang Tai Dopp Kit Bag make it seem as though more such bags will come out of the woodwork in the near future. Boxes certainly fit with the emerging trend of petite, streamlined, slightly retro handbags, and if you want to hop on this look before all of your friends know about it, we’ve got a few suggestions – one that plays up the bag’s grey tone, another that accents the creams and beiges. Fashion can get a little tricky when trying to mix lots of pieces with different textures and patterns, and for better or worse (we think for better), texture and pattern are all over the place lately. The moment’s trends call for bold looks from head to toe, and it can be a little daunting to try and figure out how to piece together a look like that at the mall – in fact, you really don’t want to know how many pieces I went through before I chose the ones you see above.

Because we like to be helpful, we’ve put together two bold looks, one casual and dressy, based on the very trendy Marc by Marc Jacobs Tribal Pixie Bucket Bag. A bag that has so much personality can be hard to style, but if you focus on incorporating pretty prints and standout accessories, you’ll have an outfit in no time. (more…)
