I am much more of a college football fan than I am a pro-football fan, but since moving to New York City, I’ve begun embracing the Giants and will cheer them on tonight. I love Super Bowl Sundays for the commercials, food, and casual clothing. To show my support for the team I am rooting for, I gave myself a Giants manicure, and to finish off the perfect football Sunday look, I am carrying my oddly amazing Alexander Wang Football Clutch. A total novelty bag, this football shaped clutch from Alexander Wang is the perfect accessory for Superbowl Sunday.

What team are you cheering for?

Can I start off by telling you all that I’ve not been a big fan of the whole backpack in place of a handbag movement. It simply is not my style and even in school I always carried messenger bags (aside from the years where I took every possible book with me at all times and you could tip me over with the slightest nudge). But this morning at the Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 show, I ran into fellow blogger friend, Rachel of The Greyest Ghost, who helped change my opinion on wearing backpacks.

We were chatting after the show and both Vlad and I realized she had quite the nifty camera bag. But this wasn’t an ordinary camera bag, instead she opted to use the Alexander Wang Marti Convertible Backpack as her camera bag. (more…)

“That’d be swell Trudy”. Name that TV show! If right off the bat you knew it is a line Pete Campbell has often told his wife Trudy Campbell on AMC’s hit series Mad Men, then you would be correct. I have a hard time thinking of anything other than Mad Men when I hear the name Trudy. Trudy plays the perfectly-put-together striving-to-climb-her-way-up housewife on the series. The handbags during that era were much more compact, structured, and ladylike. In fact, they are what designers are dabbling with more today.

The Alexander Wang Trudy Tote not only does not match with what I could expect Trudy Campbell to carry but also is a much more bland accessory for the brand. (more…)

I am not a backpack person. I never really was. When it came to school, I was a messenger bag kind of girl. But right now I am all about the backpack and of course that is because of designer extraordinaire Alexander Wang. Alexander Wang is the designer for me, so much so that if I was told I could only buy from one designer right now I would live very happily with my choice.

The typical schoolbag has been made super cool in the Alexander Wang Sydney Backpack. In fact, it has been made so cool that I feel like enrolling in a class just to buy this bag. Of course you don’t need to be in school to carry a backpack, but I just about love this bag so much that I would consider going back to school for a new backpack. See, I find ways to get around my bag ban right now! (more…)

Dear Alexander Wang,

I apologize. While I did say that the color of your new mustard bags on ShopBop may not represent your bags well, I did not realize how off the color could be. A reader kindly pointed us in the direction of your website and if the mustard hue you used on your bags looks like it does on your website, then job well-done.

Sincerely, A website full of fans! (more…)

Alexander Wang is sticking with the bags that are working for him for his fall 2010 line. While there may be some new additions, the classics from Alexander Wang will remain staples. These include the Rocco, Brenda, and Diego.

For Fall 2010, expect more of the same in different colors and materials. Lately I have been digging the Diego Bucket Bag for its long strap and sack shaped body. Shop Alexander Wang at ShopBop.

Lately, I have been adoring all things Alexander Wang. You see, when Alexander Wang sent his Spring 2010 collection down the runway, I fell in love. The design aesthetic paired sportswear with preppy cool. And while the collection was far too tomboy for many, I found so many elements that I loved. (more…)

Is there a certain handbag that haunts you? The Alexander Wang Rocco has haunted me since I first laid eyes on it: leading me to buy it, only to end up being disappointed with it, returning it, and now feeling tormented like I could have liked it. You see, if you read my review of the bag I was entirely let down. I knew the studs would add weight, but the heavy studs paired with the shape of the bag made it appear frumpy. And I couldn’t seem to make it work for me. But I think of the bag often and feel like I want to give it another try. Little secret into my mind: I *hate* returning bags and almost always find something good in a bag so I can keep it and wear it.

But this bag might work better for those that love the Alexander Wang aesthetic but need more support for a heavier handbag. Welcome the Alexander Wang Darcy Slouchy Hobo to the family, I think many of you will welcome her with open arms and wallets. (more…)

One of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, is when Toula’s father Guss recovers his mother who is constantly running away and says, “Hey everybody, look who’s back again!”. Clearly reading that line loses every bit of hilarious context in the movie, but it not only applies perfect to the movie but also to this bag.

The original, classic Alexander Wang Rocco is in stock on Alexander Wang online right now. The classic is the black leather with brass studs. This is the most sought after combo of the bag that was originally named the Coco, though the name seems to have caused some legal problems hence the name change. The Rocco continues to garner an immense amount of press and buzz, with everyone wanting to get their hands on this particular combination. You all may recall my lackluster feeling toward my Rocco I ordered and eventually returned, but it does not take away from my respect for the design and idea of the bag.

I both tweeted and facebooked about being extremely let down by a new handbag purchase. And this is it.

The Alexander Wang Rocco in a style that I was obsessing over for its sporty chic vibe. This version of the Rocco had my heart. The wavy-stitched detailing added such a nice dimension to the luggage-colored leather, alongside the ridged silver tone studs at the bottom. And when I saw it online I had to have it. Perfection! A couple of weeks before the Super Bowl, I went on an intense internet hunt for this exact clutch. All I wanted to do was photograph it in front of the Super Bowl sign on Fort Lauderdale Beach. But no, I could not find it. It was no where to be found. And my perfect shutterbag image I was going to have Vlad take did not happen.

But here it is, of course not exactly when I wanted to see it but I welcome it. Everything about the Alexander Wang Spring 2010 collection spoke to me. Casual, sporty, chic can sum up his spring collection. The models, with their loose side braids, were the talk of the fashion world. Football touches were added to the wardrobe, either in the clothing design or the bags. I am in love with the Alexander Wang Brady Football Clutch which shows a quilted panel at the front and back and football laces-likes whipstitching at the front. (more…)
