Because I know we have so many Louis Vuitton fanatics around here, I couldn’t resist posting these first looks at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 ad campaign. If you followed our coverage of the Vuitton runway show a few months ago, you probably could have guessed how this campaign would look – pale, precious and ever so sweet. The brand tapped Steven Meisel to shoot Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher in the world’s most luxurious ice cream shop, and the result fit the mood of the clothing and accessories perfectly. I love a good ad campaign. Unlike magazine editorials, ads are often designed to show prospective buyers the things that really make money for brands: Bags and shoes. Which, coincidentally, are the things we like most! Fashionista.com got a little preview of Prada’s Fall 2011 ad campaign and were so kind as to share it with the masses, so we thought we’d be so kind as to do the same. As if we needed another reason to have mid-winter vacation dreams, the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 lookbook is out and it reads like a 1960s Palm Springs road trip fantasy. The clothes are lovely and wearable, the bags are covetable, and the scenery looks much more inviting than what’s going on outside my window right now.
