Like nearly every luxury brand as of late, Prada continues to pull inspiration from its archives, expertly melding historical elements of its past with a modern, contemporary appeal. There is much to buzz about at the House of Prada right now. Season after season, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons continue to wow, taking the title of the most beloved fashion duo of the early 2020s, with the success to prove it.

Prada has always been a go-to for the fashion elite, but like any brand, it has had its ebbs and flows. However, the Prada of now is not to missed. It’s one that is both beautiful and pragmatic. Pieces are meant to be part of your daily rotation, and the latest bag from Prada is a true testament to today’s Prada, blending storied elements of Prada’s past with its innovative future.

A Literal Take on the Prada Triangle

The entire Fall 2023 collection was meant to be an open dialogue of Prada’s past and present, and the brand’s newest shoulder bag represents that discourse. Aesthetically, the triangular Brushed Leather Shoulder bag is beautiful; there’s no doubt about that. But upon a further glance, there’s much more to the bag’s story.

Defining a new elegance for the House, the bag perfectly encapsulates the House’s most staple motif, the Prada Triangle, with a unique modern edge. Its lines are sharp and sleek, offering a geometric appeal. It feels retro but modern all at once, a balance that Prada continues to strike season after season, and this bag is one of the most literal representations of the Prada Triangle to date.

Crafted from the House’s brushed leather, which has become a Prada staple, the bag offers a sturdy hand with a nice sheen. Sophisticated and chic, its nods to the past are further defined by the triangle logo hardware, which acts as the bag’s closure. The bag has a Nappa leather lining, and the interior is finished with a slit pocket. The shoulder strap is both removable and adjustable, and the bag’s overall dimensions are 5.5″ L x 11.2″ W x 2.8″D. Purchase via Prada for $3,950.

An interesting, pretty bag…but not for $4000.

Pretty. Cool. Very aesthetic (looks good in pictures). In theory, doesn’t appear to be functional.

$4000?! LOL!

$4000 is so much, like what is happening to the cows with inflation. Even their Nylon bags are pricey. Beautiful bag though.

$4000 for that bag is just not happening. FWIW, I passed a Prada store last Saturday afternoon and it was nearly empty. LV, Hermes, etc had lines of people waiting to get in.

The Prada in Toronto has looked empty from outside for years. Gucci and LV are luxury but have made their products and price points much more accessible to many of us

Scottsdale has a rope for you to wait to get in. I looked in the store and there were just SAs. LV and Gucci were packed where they have a good range of price points.

Not a fan of Prada usually but this bag is awesome. I love its nod to the 60s. Very cool!

I really do like this bag, edgy and sophisticated all at the same time. I like the clean lines and even the hardware. I will keep this one on my radar!

The one thing I like about Prada is that it doesn’t break my personal bank if I want to buy something from the brand, especially in the resale market. It has great name recognition, they offer a very good product, and I can usually buy a pre-owned bag for under $2000. Now here we are with a very simple, small bag that does not have a lot of handwork for $4000 and places them in direct competition with next level higher end brands. I don’t know if everyone would choose them.
