The build-up to anticipated shows feels incredibly anticlimactic when you can watch it all at once. I was anticipating Emily in Paris Season 5 since the end of last season; for the silly plot line, the backdrop in Paris and Rome, and the style! Oh, the style! While it might not always be my cup of tea, it is fun to watch what the cast of Emily in Paris wears, along with the bags they carry, especially Emily’s.
I shared Part 1 of the best bags of this season, and thankfully, the second half of season 5 brought better bags. I was surprised by the lack of bags being shown in Sylvie this season, whose style is truly French-chic with a penchant for Saint Laurent. Emily kept with some Fendi and then changed it up with more options, ranging from bright hues to sequin embellishments.
Episode 6
Midway through the season, Emily was confused. Confused about who she loved, where she should be, what was in store with her job, and feeling homesick. Thankfully, she met a cute American Diplomat for trivia night and was invited to the 4th of July celebration at the American embassy.
We almost needed another plot line, with Emily and Bryan Greenberg’s character, but Emily thanked him for helping her see who she truly had feelings for. And it wasn’t him. Mostly, I loved her Gucci bag, so that’s about all I had to take away from that episode.
Episode 7
At this point in the season, the storyline is bringing us back to Marcello and Emily. In my opinion, the endgame will always be Emily and Gabriel, so this episode is essentially filler.
There was the overarching idea that second chances should be given, from Sylvie and an old friend with a bad ending, to Emily with Marcello, to Mindy with Nico.
For the most part, the bags were well-represented in this episode, offering a range of brands, materials, and colors.
Episode 8
The double-dating couple is finally back together, with Marcello and Nico going into business together after both leaving their respective family businesses. And who, you may ask, will be building their brand, forging their campaign, and helping launch them? Emily, of course.
Emily is always there to the rescue. Mindy lets Emily know that Nico is no longer part of the family business or has the trust fund status he once had, and Marcello is being sued by his mother (honestly, that part might come later, but it all blends together).
The hunt is on for a designer to run Marcello’s new brand, and it feels very on the nose, offering a look into how the fashion world plays Creative Director musical chairs.
Episode 9
Finally, a moment for Gabriel and his knives. His barely-there storyline this season really frustrated me, as a team Emily and Gabriel girl, but he took a new job as a private Chef for a billionaire aboard his yacht and came back to Paris to grab his knives. Emily ran them to him at the train station, inside her Ferragamo bag. This bag is really lovely.
Also, very randomly but fittingly, we discover that Luc used to be a painter and found one of his nude self-portraits in a trendy café. It’s so over the top yet so Luc, so I didn’t mind this story.
Episode 10
We end the season in Venice, with Emily and team headed to help Marcello launch his new brand. It’s chaotic, beautiful, and messy, just as this show is. The looks were serving fashion and Emily realized that Marcello would want to move home to keep his family business and new line (oh ya, his mom decided to drop her suit and allow him back).
Emily realizes she can’t do it. She loves Marcello, but she loves Paris and what it has to offer her. It’s Gabriel, it’s gotta be, and even Sylvie ends the season telling her that. So now we have another year waiting for the next season to drop, where the end game may finally be able to work out.

I wish Marcello and Emily were end game instead of Gabriel. His storyline feels dusty.
Anyone but Gabriel, please!!!
I’m wondering if the producers shifted the locale from Paris to Rome for product placement reasons. After several seasons of French brands, there was an opportunity for Italian brand sponsorship?
intimissimi, peroni, fendi
Oh Wow.. That Vivienne Westwood, If Ariel ( Little Mermaid ) were a fashionista, that’s probably her bag. Gorgeous
The black Tods tote she had on the scooter had me fixated!
I can’t believe I didn’t even notice many of these bags, they are gorgeous!
I’m in love with the GCDS one
