A few times a year, Vlad and I have the absolute pleasure to delve into the glamorous and gorgeous world of Oscar de la Renta. Last week on a rainy NYC evening overlooking Bryant Park, de la Renta showed his Resort 2013 collection. With a plethora of black and white opening the show to an infusion of green, Oscar showed us again precisely why he is the master of elegance.
I sat at the show and felt like I was transported to a different place, needing an immediate getaway and a long stroll draped in gorgeous frocks and accessories from Oscar. I feel like all of Oscar’s collections speak for themselves in photos, but it is important to note that he has truly stepped up his accessory game. Chic hand-painted exotic clutches were paired with the perfect garden party dresses, and I couldn’t stop daydreaming about all the places I would like to wear the pieces.
With a few nods to a more casual approach, the lineup showed a sequin baseball shirt that costs a whopping $2,490, but it was the ladies-who-lunch dresses and fitted tops paired with flowing bottoms that caught my eye. No matter what he puts out there, every single Oscar de la Renta show leaves me wanting to be an Oscar girl, from head to toe.
