It’s that time of year when Pantone, a color cataloging service, announces its Color of the Year for the following year. This year, it has chosen ‘Cloud Dancer,’ a natural, true white that will best represent the overall mood and aesthetic of the upcoming year.
For 2026, Pantone has opted for white for the first time ever, an interesting choice given that the color of the year for 2025 was also a neutral—mocha mousse. Still, the color is not without significance. Inspired by a blank canvas, Cloud Dancer embodies the desire for a fresh start, creating space for creativity and imagination.
Meet ‘Cloud Dancer’: A Fresh, Timeless White
We’re living in a time of transformation, and choosing white represents the desire for rebirth and rebuilding that many of us are collectively feeling on a day-to-day basis. This has been what the Pantone Color of the Year has always been about: highlighting what is taking place globally in our culture.
A symbol of new beginnings, white embodies consistency—it’s a color that can be worn by all and never goes out of style. It’s a classic, no matter what is happening in the world or within the fashion industry. The tides may change, but the hue remains as relevant as ever.
A breath of fresh air and a palate cleanser of sorts between the past and the future, there are so many ways to work the shade into your wardrobe, but of course, we’re here for the bags. Below are some of our favorite fresh white finds to get you started.
Our Favorite White Finds for 2026

I think I’ll skip this trend. Nothing transfers color onto it like a white bag.
the most versatile? breath of fresh air and a palate cleanser? if you say so…
Does anyone actually care? I genuinely want to know.
I definitely do! I know in general textiles, retail, fashion, hair/nail industries, and basically any personal style (whether at home or on you) definitely take an interest in what the color of the year will be because it can really impact trends and what orders/ideas retailers will put out and what consumers want (whether via osmosis a la “Devil Wears Prada cerulean” scene or explicitly). That being said typically the colors that are more wearable or consumers see as fun/pretty are the ones that really take off
I feel like this color is definitely a cop out on Pantone’s part lol. I feel like they’ve been choosing really safe colors due to all the economic/general life turmoil, because neutrals always sell regardless. That being said white bags are always so pretty! 😊
Interesting connection to the economy, and I don’t think you’re wrong about that.
I love a white bag! As long as you get it in a sturdy, easy to clean leather and use a leather protector, and wipe it down from time to time, they are not to bad to maintain. I have a YSL soft creme Lou camera bag and two chanel caviar bags in white and they hold up amazing! Maybe not for everyday hard wearing lifestyles, ie kids/toddlers. I’ve had a cream/white leather sofa for 15 years and it’s worn really well even with two kids and dog. Don’t be afraid of white leather!
I live for white especially in the summer!!! I have so many white outfits and pop of color shoes/bags ready to wear! I hope to add a new white handbag to my wardrobe this summer.
