This year is all about color, and colorful bags are my favorite way to add something bright to my wardrobe (ok, bags, in general, are my favorite way of showcasing any sort of trend or stand-out piece). I have seen so many people using a colorful small bag to accent their outfits lately, and I wanted to add a pop of color that I otherwise don’t have. Enter my new MCM Travia Quilted Shoulder Bag in Crushed Leather in a hue they call summer green, which is bright and bold. I’m excited to carry this bag more, to bring that little dose of happiness to my outfit. Plus, the bag itself is one that I really like.
Many years ago, I met a few team members from MCM Worldwide on a trip to Florence, Italy. I had known the brand already, but I further got to understand the history of MCM and its bag offerings, which offer a range of designs from your daily staples to more fun and playful pieces. The MCM logo is very well-known, but the brand also creates leather pieces as well.
The Tiny but Mighty Green Bag
This bag is a really usable compact bag, one that I picked for myself to try out (the MCM team graciously offered me to pick a few items, and this is the bag that I was drawn to). I must lead with the fact that the interior fits my phone easily and is wide enough to carry other necessities without cramming them in the bag, and that is a major plus when it comes to finding the right small bag! The color is great for your spring and summer wardrobe; think crisp whites to muted beige to other colorful pieces.
The exterior of the MCM Travia Quilted Shoulder Bag showcases what they call crushed leather, which has a semi-gloss finish with worn-in distressed leather and geometric lines quilted on top in tonal stitching. The front of the bag opens with an MCM engraved logo lock closure, which opens to the interior compartment. Here you’ll find microfiber lining and a slip pocket. Speaking of a slip pocket, the back of the bag also has a slip pocket that runs the length of the exterior, which is really nice for carrying small items. The chain strap is thick and gives a really nice feel to the bag without weighing it down (with a 21.5″ drop). You could carry this bag crossbody or wear it over your shoulder. Overall dimensions are 5.1 x 7.3 x 2.8 inches.

The MCM Park
Now, if you want to add something really fun to your shelf, I have the answer for you. When Millie was born, the MCM team sent her this massive bunny that still sits atop her dresser in her room, and it’s one of my favorite things in her bedroom. “Bunny” greets me every morning when I go in to see Millie and is one of the last things I see when I close the door and tell her goodnight. Now “Bunny” has the cutest friend, this small Pup, that I think is the cutest thing ever. MCM offers different Visetos monogram-coated canvas animals, ranging from a bear to a dachshund to a bunny to a pup, and these are such great and unexpected gifts. I am not quite sure where Pup will call home, but I am assuming Millie will think it’s for her!
