Tiffany & Co. may be synonymous with jewelry but that soon will change once you get to see their new leather collection. When I first learned that Lambertson Truex filed for bankruptcy, it was not only a shock but also left me feeling like a significant part of the handbag world vanished. My hope was restored soon after when I read that Tiffany acquired Lambertson Truex. Then I had to wait. Wait to see what would become of the former original US-American design house and how the partnership between Tiffany and the design duo, Richard Lambertson and John Truex, would translate in the designs.

The Tiffany Leather Collection does not disappoint. In fact it quickly surpasses my expectations, and it does so with confidence and poise. The sleek and streamlined bags are reminiscent of past Lambertson Truex designs, allowing the elegance and grace of each piece to shine through. While the designs master the combination of modern elegance with a timeless appeal, the finishing touches infuse classic Tiffany touches. These finishes include custom-designed hardware, Tiffany Blue leather interiors, and Tiffany Blue enamel.

“The collection captures the spirit of American sportswear and its exuberant approach to life in town, in the country and from coast to coast,” says Richard Lambertson. “We also find great inspiration in Tiffany’s timeless style and its heritage of refined accessories.” Referring to the duo’s design process, John Truex says that “we might start with a particular color or silhouette and then draw from Tiffany’s world of beauty and sophistication to make a new design. The result is something unique, yet unmistakably Tiffany.”

In today’s market, it is extremely difficult for a company not known for its handbags to break into the realm of designer leather goods. But Tiffany clearly knew it would be tough, which is precisely why Richard Lambertson and John Truex are a perfect fit.

I typically am reserved about buying a bag by a company not known for its leather goods. This time, that is not the case. I will not only stop in to view the designs in person, but also would personally purchase something from the Tiffany Leather Goods collection. From day bags to evening bags, from leather to exotic skins, this collection is graceful from start to finish.

  • Blo0ondi

i’m in love with th black stachel!!
its th nxt logical step 4 them n they didnt [retty well i’d say

  • Elly

I am LOVING this new collection! The cognac hobo in the middle is both gorgeous and practical. I love it so much it may have to be my fall gift to myself!

On a different note, I really enjoy reading your posts because they are always so current! You guys are the first ones to cover the new launch!

    • Thanks Elly!! We try to always bring something new for you all to read and look at :)

    • Harry

I’m sorry to disappoint you Elly but I work right beside Tiffany and was talking to one of the Sales Associates about the collection. I was raving from the reviews I had seen but the Sales Associate said the bag your specifically are talking about(the cognac hobo) was disgustingly cheap and reminded her of a Lancome give-away. I didn’t believe her at first but she was so insistent that she went back to Tiffany, somehow took the bag out of the store and brought it into mine to look at. The suede has a terrible hand and was extremely thin, the metallic sheen reversible side looks cheap, and worst of all none of the edges on the bag are finished. You will have to check it out for yourself but unless you are buying something exotic it looks as though Tiffany is trying to make a quick profit on something cheap. This bag honestly makes an LV neverfull look complex and extremely detailed by comparison!

      • Elly

@ Harry – Oh no, no, no! I was so excited about this collection but if what you are saying is true, I absolutely will not purchase anything from this collection. Your comment surprises me though because I am a huge fan of Tiffany jewelry and the quality of my pieces are impeccable! I will have to go into a store to have a look for myself! Thank you for the update!

      • Jackie

        Hi Harry,

I am really surprised by your reaction. I was actually at the 5th avenue store just over the weekend and saw all the bags on display. I am going to have to politely disagree with you because they looked beautiful! While everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, the materials and the craftsmenship are definitely not in the catagory of being cheap. It is hard to believe that an actual employee would show such a public display of disapproval.

Regardless of our differing opinions, I think everyone should still go to a store if you have the chance and then decide for yourself.

      • Chris

@Elly – I don’t think you should let what Harry says affect your enthusiasm for going to the store and physically checking out the bags. I’ve gone in myself, and they all look impeccable. Being that Lambertson Truex is known for their attention to detail, it’s quite obvious that this has been carried over into their work with Tiffany & Co. The craftsmanship and quality of each bag is clearly given much attention to by a true artisan, as is Tiffany’s timeless jewelry.

On a side note, I can’t help but find it hard to believe that an actual Tiffany sales associate would go as far as discrediting their own products–affecting their sales–OR even physically taking a bag out of the store only to bash it some more?

And specifically regarding the reversible tote, I came across an image of Jennifer Aniston on another fashion blog carrying it in espresso and was quoted that she loved it. I’m not sure she would be caught wearing something resembling a “Lancome give away”. Just saying. So definitely go in and check them out for yourself. They’re GORGE.

Totally want the Tiffany blue wallet!

    • DONNA

I have the large Tiffant blue leather wallet and it is discoloring! Has anyone else had this issue?

  • mochababe73

It speaks volumes that Tiffany’s was smart enough to hire Lamberston Truex to design their collection. They are not taking chances by hiring someone with no experience. These two design beautiful bags.
What I also like is that they are pricing them right until they have solidified themselves as legitimate handbag makers. More can afford to buy them. Therefore, word of mouth will get out faster.
I am lusting after the silver lined with the Tiffany blue. Beautiful!

  • !!!

love that they incorporated the tiffany blue color!!

  • louch

Very impressive. I am LOVING that Purple Manhattan Crocodile tote!

  • theresa

    beautiful collection! i am impressed

I am happy the duo found a new home. I have a giraffe bag from their collections from years ago and was bummed when they shut their stores when their bags have always been very reasonable and fashionable.

  • sweetkakes

love the compact wallets and the reversible tote

  • ann

I found a pdf file of the catalog for Tiffany leather goods on the internet; there were a number of bags that do not appear on the Tiffany website. Love a number of bags there … can’t wait to see them in person.

  • hect

here we go again with the multitasking jewlers ohhhh i truly feel it looks like a more elaborate coach line . i just do not like it . tiffanys should stick to silver and those wonderful diamonds !

  • Michael St. James

I absolutely love this collection! Thanks for sharing. I blogged about it a while ago, but I certainly didn’t see all of these additional images. That purple crocodile Manhattan Satchel is TDF!

  • 19yearslater

These bags and wallets are wonderful. A match made in Heaven, I should say.

  • Demi

They’re great! All of them! I especially love the clutches in the first pisture.

  • Pursecrzy

I’m with Louch and Michael St. James- love the Manhattan purple crocodile satchel!

  • Miss.Cherie

Love the little turquoise wallet! So adorable, and definitely on my christmas list!

  • Brandon

I think the black crocodile back in the second set of pictures that some what resembles the birkin would look 100% BETTER if the handels were more structured. They look floppy and not all that attractive in my opinion. I think if they did a more rounded handel that it would be a much better fit for that bag, and I <3 that black & white bag too !

I was in San Franscisco this past week, and was able to preview some of the bags they had in store awaiting release. They are GEORGEOUS! The quality was eactly what you would expect from Tiffany; I couldnt pass one up…I got approval to purchase one (Manhatten satchell in leather) ealrly being from Canada and I absolutly love it! I will definatly be returning for more Tiffany leather purchases!

  • bindc

That’s a smart move by Tiffany. Very very smart way to move into the handbag market. And what a fantastic joining of two wonderful design houses. It would have been a complete shame if L/T hadn’t been bought out.

    Thanks for the post!

  • Lisa

I am so impressed by this leather line. When I saw their ads in Vogue I couldn’t wait to see them in person. And I was not disappointed. To Harry, I think you’re confusing the Cognac Hobo with the TRT tote in reversible suede. I’m surprised at your comments as I’ve seen the TRT and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s a new and stylish spin on what has become a staple in personal style – the tote. The material is luxurious and rich which gives it the unique quality of being able to cross over into evening. I can not wait to get my hands on a Laurelton handbag, it’s the perfect classic piece….

  • CDB

I purchased the TRT in silver/tiffany blue suede and have not taken it out of the box! I’m slightly intimidated by a blue box that big!! Anyway, I’ve seen most of the collection and LOVE it! Can’t decide if the silver/blue will be what I need this fall/winter or if I should exchange for the espresso. I did just read silver was big for fall, but this tote would be perf for spring/summer-I’m basically a ‘soccer mom’ with a need for a bit of style to jazz up my yoga pants~Any thoughts between the silver or brown??

  • Maggie

Love that Tiffany Blue color for the leather accessories!! Super pretty! (ipad)

  • Tracey G

I’m glad I saw this article. I never knew Tiffanys would be behind a handbag collection..interesting (ipad)

Love the teal and gold clutches! (ipad)

Great clutch for going out–I like the simplicity (ipad)

  • Tracey G

Love the design and how simple the bags are (ipad)

  • Tracey G

Very smart and creative of tiffanys to start this line–excited for it! (ipad)

  • Jelita78

    oh wow!
i was about to say i’m loving it, but due to the comments above, i think it’s best be viewed personally in order to judge the quality at stake..
i do believe that tiffany is new in leather business but with that kind of reputation for perfection, i’m confident they will do their best here too ! (ipad)

  • Iris Santiago

Love the look of the new Tiffany handbags, however, they resemble Kate Spade handbags a lot!, which are priced much more reasonably than these from Tiffany…Good luck Tiffany with this new venture…!

I purchased the Tiffany blue large leather wallet and it is discoloring already. I’ve only had it for a couple of months. Has anyone else had this issue?

  • anna

I purchased one of the manhattan sathels in tiffany blue and it is amazing!
