If you’re sick of logos and overly designed bags, you’ll love our newest discovery
One of the things I love most about living in New York City (and trust me there are so many!), is the ease of discovering new brands. I live in the Lower East Side, and my neighborhood is a hotbed for creative types. From the minute I walk out of my apartment I am surrounded by fashion and culture. And while there are many other cities that can leave someone instantly inspired, I just love the energy of New York (though currently I'm anxious to visit Paris again and Copenhagen for the first time).
A few weeks ago I was wandering around my neighborhood on an unusually warm winter day, iced coffee with oat milk in hand, people watching and enjoying the unseasonably warm sun. I stopped to peek into the window of a cool store when a tall, willowy figure (presumably one of NYC's many models) emerged wearing an incredibly simple, yet chic, all black outfit. In her hand was a boxy, but seemingly nondescript bag, and I squinted to try to quickly read the name. It's times like those when I'm thankful for my 20/20 vision. I took a mental note and moved on, completely forgetting about said bag until Priyanka Chopra was spotted in New York with the same bag in tow.
I decided to delve into this bag brand a little more and was intrigued by what I discovered. Medea was created by two former models Camilla and Guila, who also happen to be twin sisters. Medea bags are characterized by their ubiquitous shape, which is easily compared to that of a shopping bag. Each bag is structured in shape and is incredibly sleek. There are different sizes as well as leather finishes. A current favorite of influencers and celebs, it's not long until these bags reach cult status.
