This weekend is Mother’s Day, and while it is technically a holiday, I don’t love calling it one as it’s more like a day of remembrance for mothers to receive extra attention and acknowledgment. But I’ll take it.
Being a mom is easily the most challenging yet rewarding role I have ever had, and as my kids get older, they are equally as excited to celebrate me, making it all the more enjoyable.
I must preface this entire post by saying that this holiday is also terribly hard for many. Those who want to be a mother but have not been able to, those who have lost babies, those who have lost their own mothers, those who have strained relationships, and those who are parents or guardians who don’t fit the title of mother.
With that being said, a gift guide that shows some of my favorite luxe items right now can work for everything from birthdays to anniversaries to Mother’s Day or a just-because gift – can we bring those back? I love a random gift, even if it is from me to me.
My Luxe List
The Prada Galleria is such a functional, timeless bag, and this floral printed version makes me smile. It is very much a florals-for-spring-groundbreaking sort of design, but here I am, loving it still.
I am much more of a sneaker girl than anything else, but I realized I have so few dressier shoes that I can turn to that look good and might feel ok too. I need a nice pair of kitten heels, and these are so chic!
I have always loved the Ralph Lauren Ricky, but a few weeks ago, I saw a woman in NYC carrying a suede one, and it was one of those bags that felt like a handbag-loving sucker-punch to the heart. I keep thinking about it.
What Loewe does with its summer collections always speaks to my soul, and this bag folds up and will hold every items for tropical beach vacations and pair with breezy summer dresses as well.
Ok, this gift is over-the-top, but I have never been one to be under-the-top! In my dream life, I have Louis Vuitton trunks all over my house, as coffee tables or placed at the end of the bed. This trunk is meant to hold flowers, and how great would this look on an entry table or coffee table?
Though I don’t need this in Florida, we travel enough, and I realize I no longer have an excellent trench coat for the in-between weather days. No better option than Burberry, and this one is more under the radar.
Miu Miu is having a major moment, and the Wander is a significant part of that. I love this little bag; it feels like an appropriate Mother’s Day gift.
A larger travel bag will forever be necessary in my life, and the Toujours grew so much on me! I love this bag, and it is made for hauling everything everywhere.
Everyday Luxe Items
I don’t need a Missoni towel, but I want it! After I checked out the ShopBop Miami Pop Up, I found myself feeling like I needed an overhaul of Missoni items.
While a far more expensive list of dream items is fun to share, everyday luxe items are at times more usable and obviously more affordable. How fun are these glasses?!
And these dessert plates!
I recently received some Clarins products and love how they feel on my skin! This is a great gift.
So is this! A face mask feels so luxurious even if you’re just sitting in your own bathroom hoping for 10 minutes of quiet.
As far as practical necessities go, everyone needs a good pair of Birkenstocks.
Back to my penchant for summer bags, but this one is on the more affordable side!
I realize the dress section of my closet is lacking, and if I were to share this link with Vlad, I would be thrilled to get a nice dress that I could wear out to brunch with the family!
I love the Ricky too! And those lemon cups and snail plates!
Happy Mother’s Day moms!! Love this list Megs!
